Bookmarking - Automation Tools

Hey everybody,
Looking for some feedback from those of you that use such tools as SENuke, Magic Submitter, etc. with help in the automation process of bookmarking. I am of course wanting to do my bookmarking in a legit way but with the use of tools to help with the speed of the process.
For simplicity, lets assume I want to bookmark a new article on my website.
- How would it be best to approach this without it looking like spam using such automation tools?
- How many bookmarking accounts should you create? Are you better off submitting new articles with different accounts if it is linking to the same URL?
- Would it be best to use a proxy service to randomly change IP's when doing this?
