Does Domain matter

I Have been wanting to start autoblogging and some people have said get a .com .net or .org or else you wont make money or get visitors.

Im wondering is this true or just a myth? They say i wont get indexed on google as fast if i use a .info which i have been going for.

So In SEO is it better to get .com .net or .org or does it even matter?

    I have used .co.uk .biz and .com the influencing factor I have found is having keywords in the domain name.

    Where ever I can I go for .com only

      The biggest factor is what one does WITH the site. Somehow, this is kept secret.

      Has nothing to do with indexing either. I always wonder where these ideas come from.

          I pretty much stick to those 3 for all of my domains that I buy, and I certainly haven't noticed any ranking disparities with .net or .org versus .com. In fact, my .net and .org sites actually often rank the fastest/best.

        Indeed.

        Domain/site authority is what matters. Not the domain itself.

        From an end user perspective, the 'big three' (com, net and org) along with immediate ccTLDs (.co.uk, .us etc) are better than (say) .biz, .ws etc.

        But in terms of the search engines, I doubt there's any difference.

    But, to answer your question for yourself, Google on the terms in bold in the paragraph below.

    This does beg the question, have you ever searched for info on Noam Chomsky? How about regular expressions, roman coins or craft ideas? Maybe you've never needed to do some research to find out if New York was a sanctuary city or to find out something about New York transit. Oh, and have you thought about moving your money to a local bank before you go shopping on Black Friday?

    If you can - definately get the .com - the .net and org seem to be pretty similar in popularity.
    But as far as i know none will give you an edge in the search engines - as they are looking for site content, inbound links and many other factors.
    But you should be looking at the domain for more than search engine traffic and that's why the .com is so important.
