submitting to article directories

I have a blog, and have been submitting my article to directories.

I was curious however if i write multiple articles with the same title and about the same thing using my unique keywords, do i have to put them on my site.

I don't want to clutter my site with the same articles over and over.

With that being said i think that i can just keep submitting them to article directories i just wanted to make sure i am doing this correctly..

Basically i am going to keep submitting as many articles as i can write that link back to my website.

Also with backlinking. if i achieve more back links to my site, it will be more prone to show up on googles top page when those keywords are entered?

Sorry if i sound like i know nothing.. that might slightly be the case i am just having trouble finding info when i search it.This takes up alot of my time and i want to spen most of implementing my plan.

  • That is correct. Google ranks sites on the number and quality of backlinks that the site has.
  • Ideally what you want to do is write two pieces of content. One for your website which should not go anywhere else. and another to submit to article directories. Take this second article and submit to as many as you humanly can. Or use semi automated software to help you speed it up for you.
  • Will if you are writing articles that have the exact same title you are making a big mistake. You need to have 50% unique title with your target keyword starting somewhere in the first 25 characters. Plus your articles need to be at least 30%-50% unique. • What in Gods name are you on about? If you're talking about article marketing and syndication that has to be the biggest pile of nonsense advice I've heard since the last time this subject popped up. Jeez it's getting thick in this forum lately with armchair quarterbacks. And BTW self promotion within a post is frowned upon here, at least it was last I checked.

Absolute waste of time and energy. 1 article can go both to OP's website AND to the directories, with 0 revision. That's not healthy advice for anyone other than a person who likes wasting time writing unnecessarily. What you should be doing if your goal here is to do something crazy like make money online, is to understand and utilize 2 concepts when dealing with articles.
      1. the economic use of your time.
      2. The inherent value 1 article holds in creating both backlinks and attracting residual traffic.
That means by taking 1 article only, placing it on your site first, and then syndicating that SAME article to the top directories - untouched - is not only acceptable, it's making the best use of your most limited resource - time. Anyone telling you to rewrite articles for your site, or for submission purposes is giving you lame advice, and obviously buying into myths and internet legend.

Believe me, 1 article, to your site and many article directories accomplishes the EXACT SAME THING as having written 30 articles for the same purpose. The only thing you should make sure to do is place it on your site first - so you have some proof that it is your original work.

OP read this thread and this one to find out exactly what article directory owners and some very senior marketers have to say on the subject. The second thread I've linked to is so informative people consistently ask that it be made into an WSO.

Really guys, leave the supposition and theories as that - don't spew what you may think is right as facts. Doing so is both misleading and can seriously hurt the efforts of a new marketer.

  • Search engine likes original articles. If you post many same articles to some forums, it would not be so helpful for your site promotion. Article marketing is really a good method to promote a site. Insist on it, and you'll get great benefit from it.

    • Search engines could care less if the article they index is original or not. An article ranks based on the competition in the niche and the amount of SEO work done to the page where said article exists. If I write a song, record it and release it, tell me, which radio station won't play my song because it's been played on other stations?

If by forums you mean article directories, your assertion is blatantly false. Posting the same article on different directories is helpful or not based on the amount of work you do promoting your article within said directory. It's as helpful as the backlink and residual traffic you can expect from an article directory, considering their pre-existing authority. Having a unique article there, or having a syndicated copy that exists on 400 other article directories makes exactly 0 difference. The results from your efforts will be identical. Let me repeat myself yet again... 0 DIFFERENCE.

I'll say it again, stop swooping in here giving out maligned theories as if they were facts. First of all this theory is incorrect, and secondly it's unnecessarily misleading to keep spouting off this stuff. People ask these questions for factually correct answers, not bogus opinions.

  • The more backlinks you have the better you will rank, usually. As far as writing the articles and putting them up on your blog, only put up unique content. Will if you are writing articles that have the exact same title you are making a big mistake. You need to have unique title with your target keyword starting somewhere in the first 25 characters. Plus your articles need to be at least unique.

  • The nice thing about article marketing, is that it does not cost you anything per visitor. You can write an article once, and that same article can keep on sending you visitors, and keep on contributing to your search engine ranking, for years and years. I won't pretend that a single article will necessarily make much difference by itself, but if you keep on writing and submitting articles on a regular basis, the cumulative effect of all this articles can be quite substantial.
  • Peter, thanks for your insight on this. I struggle with the urge to automate vs. the quality of manual. Writing a good article is not the problem with me, it's distributing it to the right places. If I can spend 30 - 45 mins manually distributing my one good article to these quality sites, then to me, that is time well spent.
  • There is no denying that article marketing is a very good way to promote your website. Finding which method makes the most of your efforts can seem like a job in itself. My experience tells me that the combination of submitting articles to article directories and the occasional utilization of mass-distribution works best. Thanks for sharing your words with us.
  • According to your post, i can suggest you to write unique articles for your website, then change them or write new ones about these articles and submit them to article directories and in resource box of each article link to the home page of your website and the related article in your site. Its the best choice in my opinion.
