To be honest, you'll never really know unless you try it.

    Is it a buying keyword?

At what stage of the buying process does this fit? Research? Review?

Remember that the majority of keywords are just people looking for information. These peope will never buy.

You want to be intercepting a purchasing desiciom.

I.E rather than going for 'horse saddles' go for 'Jag 201 horse saddle'

Horse Saddles - I guarantee most of these searchers are at the research stage and won't buy before being pre sold.

Jag 201 horse saddle - these searchers have already been presold on the product and are simply looking to justify their purchase by learning more about it by reading what people have to say about it.

What I'm trying to say here is that search volume doesn't mean anything. It's the type of keyword you want. Quality over quantity. You can make more sales with a keyword that gets 100 searches per month than you can with a keyword that gets 1,000 searches per month if the keywords are at different buying stages.

    Hope this helps,

    Russ.

My site is not particularly going to be selling things, its going to be more of an info type site which like monetize with adsense and cpa.

How stupid of me to assume, I apologise.

Does that keyword in your niche get a decent amount of searches? Is it closely related to the topic? Can you compete with what's already on page 1 without spending years getting there?

If yes run with it and see for yourself whether or not its a good keyword.

It has potential for 7500 searches per day, but the PBR pecentage is 0. Will that matter? I think i could get to page1 with out much trouble, but i have no idea how many people would actually find my site.
