Hello,is it important to put a title in your general settings when you create the title of the site in your graphic header, Regards, Mick.

    Yes. The title is used in the <title> tag also which is very important. But if you are using a SEO plugin that you set the title in there then it really isnt.

      Aaron, thanks for that, I have put the title in the all in one seo plugin, the reason I was asking because when you have the title in your graphic, and also in your "title" in general settings, the page looks a bit naff, Mick.

        In general settings, you probably don't mean title but "sitename"? Entirely different thing and it gets treated differently as well depending on the wordpress theme. Some treat it as the <title> (though rather unusual), others as the h1 tag and others don't treat it as something like that at all.

        Write something in there like "test test test", save settings, load your page and view the sourcecode. What do you see in the <title> and/or <h1> tag now? If it's not "test test test" you don't need to put anything in there.
