Why is my site blurb showing up as "Not found. Sorry..." in Google search results?

Hi all,

When I search for one of my keywords in Google or Bing, my site shows up, but the description underneath it is as follows: "Not found. Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here."

My site seems to be working fine. Any ideas on why this would be showing up or how I can correct it?

Thanks!

    Checked your meta description?

      Well, I knew it would be related to something basic. I'm limping through this though. I have filled out the home title, description, and keywords in the All-In-One SEO plugin, and it's showing up in my source code as shown below - what am I overlooking? Thanks!

      <meta name="description" content="CORRECT TITLE FOR MY SITE" />
      <meta name="keywords" content="CORRECT KEYWORDS" />

    If the META info is correct I would ping your site then go into Google Webmaster tools and re-submit your site map. This should correct your problem.

      LOL! If you have no meta, google/bing/yahoo could care less.

      They don't report it missing. That's crazy. Really. Many
      big sites have no meta at all. Don't need 'em. Google
      does not need them.

      What they do show is what they DO find when crawling.

      You've got crawl problems.

      Could be cleared up the next crawl if everything is fine.

      If not, you have got settings or server problems.

    Paul is correct. Don't worry about your meta tags. It's been a long time since Google did...

      Okay... so, I'm getting that in both Google and Bing, so I'm assuming the problem is on my end, not theirs. It's just a Wordpress site with a handful of plugins (all in one, askismet, XML Sitemap feed) and a dozen or so posts, Amphion theme, nothing fancy. Any ideas?

      Thanks, all.

    Is the link in the SE correct?
    If you click the link in the SE, do you get taken to the correct page?
    Were you changing the permalink structure around?

        So, I'm still struggling to figure this out. Google now has a decent description, but Yahoo and Bing are both showing the "not found. Sorry..." message. Anyone have any ideas?

        Thanks!
