I've got a little tip for people regarding google's keyword research tool at

When doing keyword research using https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal make sure you select the appropriate country that you want results for. Near the top of the page is a function that allows you to specify this... for me it says

Results are tailored to English, Australia Edit (edit being a link)

Google knows from my IP that I'm in Australia so automatically sets my results to that.

The reason it's a good idea to edit this setting is because you can get extremely different results for keyword searches depending on which country it is set to.

For example: cheap auto insurance

On the Australia setting you get an average search volume of 1,000
On the US setting you get an average search volume of 201,000
On the UK setting you get an average search volume of 6,600

As you can see, the country setting can have a huge impact so make sure that you edit this setting to get an accurate result.

Hope this tip helps.

    Thanks guys.

I should also note that you can select more than one country per search. Just hold down the ctrl key while clicking the country names. So in general if it's an English keyword I would choose Australia, UK and US as they are the countries that most searches will come from.

Not a big deal to me, as Brad's Keyword Elite has done all this small details for me in my keyWORD research & analysis processes.

Thanks for the piece of good info from you anyway.

That's one I haven't invested in as yet though I do have article submitter, directory submitter and seo elite and I love the products by bryxen software.

    heres a tip.
For your own sake be extremely careful with that tool.
I can attest to the fact that it is not accurate.

Ive had the top spot for a keyword that had an alleged 246,000 searches a month and got rock all traffic.
Its not accurate DONT go by its data, I made that mistake.

Were those results in exact match or broad match? The difference being whether a person has searched for the exact term or for or one or more words in the phrase. For example, internet marketing... if you use exact match you will only receive the number of searches for people who search for 'internet marketing'. In broad match you will get people who search for 'internet', 'marketing' & 'internet marketing'. Do you see the difference? Exact match dramatically reduces the number of searches but is more accurate.

If I already have a website I like Article Underground's Keyword Density Analyzer Tool. It helps me tweak the site and drill down to the keywords to optimize. I like the exact match idea, Julia. Will try that more often. Thanks.
