Adsense Ads and Affiliate Banner Ads On Same Page?

Hello,

Would it be considered a violation of Google's usage agreement to display Adsense Ads on the same page as Clickbank banner ads?

For example - I have a Wordpress blog with an 250 x 250 banner ad in the sidebar that takes you to an affiliate link.

Are we allowed to also place a 250 x 250 Google Adsense banner ad in the same sidebar?

Not at all you can cross promote anything you like on your own domain so carry on and tap into as many additional income streams as you can without diluting your pages

So this link on Google's website,

      https://www.google.com/adsense/suppo...y?answer=48182

      where it reads:

      "Competitive Ads and Services

In order to prevent user confusion, publishers may not display Google ads or search boxes on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colours as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure that these ads cannot be confused with Google ads."

What does "it is your responsibility to ensure that these ads cannot be confused with Google ads" supposed to mean?

I wish to place both Adsense 250 x 250 ads as well as affiliate 250 x 250 ads in the sidebar of my Wordpress blog.

Just wanted to make sure that doing this is not an issue and that the affiliate ads "would not be confused with Google ads".

This is only for text ads. All banners are OK.

You cannot have ads that mimic and can be mistaken for
          adsense.

Blogspot, a google product, readily integrates amazon
and adsense, for just one example.

Just for text? Man are you mistaken if you think that
          TOS only applies to text

Every large site does not live by adsense alone.
Just check out sites like nytimes.com.

If you have a 250x250 image ad of your own, right next
to an adsense 250x250, that may be mistaken for
          a google ad as well.

For images, it's all on how the page is formatted.

Format the page so there is no doubt.

Googles biggest problem is when you show contextual ads from another source (besides Adsense), on the same page as Adsense.

Like Paul said format the page so you follow the TOS. If you have doubts about how your displaying Ads, I suggest don't do it.

As far as I know, you can have up to 3 ads on your site. Not sure if that applies to just the adsense ad blocks or in total.

To play it safe I have two adsense ad blocks and 1 affiliate banner on a few of my sites and haven't had a problem.

Just don't put those two ads too close to confuse visitors, e.g., side by side each other, maybe divide them by a article list.
