Hi Warriors, I recently "inherited" a website from a friend that has a some steady adult traffic. The niche is for boobs and hot girls... ye I know.. I have never really done any adult web marketing, but I am not going to look a gifted horse or website in the mouth. So...

1. Does anybody still make money of Adult Traffic?
2. What are you promoting or do u suggest promoting for Adult Traffic?

I stuck a webcam affiliate program in there, had about 77 uniques, no sign ups yet so, early days.

Would love to hear what you Warriors think.

    1. Yes, people still make money with adult traffic-- just far less than they used to.
    2. I don't know anything about your site (and please do not PM me the link, LOL!) but it really depends on the type of site-- static, blog, community?

But, whether it is a viewing, reading content, or community type site, there are some great companies such as Holistic Wisdom (not an affiliate in any way, just a customer ) that have decent, honest affiliate programs (I assume, because they are a decent, honest company.)

The adult industry is also under fire right now (with good reason) because it tends to promote violence against women (which is, to my abject horror, a profitable thing.)

SO, I truly believe that if you were to go in the opposite direction and promote safe sex, offer educational videos (How To videos would probably be fun to make!) and things like that, you would be able to attract a steady following who would be happy to subscribe (and would not be hiding their subscriptions from their partners.)

You can probably even attract former stars from other sites who can come to your site to promote healthy, safe lifestyles. I don't remember the news article, but a while back I saw on Google News there was one girl who got in trouble for reading to kids at an elementary school or something. Seems to me that a lot of girls are in the industry when they are young, and eventually want out, but they were making so much money they never finished school or did anything else, and now they have no other skills.

Getting them to help promote your site and it's healthy attitude toward adult subjects would be like getting celebrity endorsements.

I promote adult novelties, not adult movies, so my experience is a little different. However, I've found success with adult traffic looking for "how to" type information. When it comes to adult movies, there's a lot of competition from all of the freesites. I would suggest you talk to the person you inherited the site from, and also checkout some adult webmaster forums for marketing ideas.

I make about $1000 month on adult traffic. I make my money from dating site affiliate programs.

Just because it is "adult traffic" does not make it any different than "family traffic".

If you understand what the people who visit your website want to buy, then you will understand what you should sell to them.

Thank you for your input Mike, I will have a look at the company you mentioned, the adult site is not really porno or anything like that its just pictures, most not even nude, pretty stylish girls like Nuts Magazine. Gets about 400 pageviews a day and about 20 - 50 clicks on ads every other day.
At the moment there is the webcam girls and penis enlargement (Vimax) affiliate program, but no conversions yet.
Could you explain more about getting the girls to promote for me, I didnt really understand that part.

      Thanks again for your input

There are a lot of former adult stars who would like to move on to another profession, but it has been exceedingly difficult because of the stigma against them. Many of these young ladies feel like they were "suckered" into the industry when they were 17 or 18 and were never able to escape it. (Men who star in adult movies are pereceived as heroes. Women are, well... not)

But, one thing that many of them do know very, very well is marketing. And they tend to have very strong views (a lot to say). So, if you contacted them and asked them to help you market a site that focuses on healthy, respectful, safe, appropriate adult behavior, my guess is that you would probably be able to get some "star power" behind your site, increasing both the traffic and the profit fairly quickly.

And, if my buddies at Wingstop that I watch the UFC fights with are any indication of what is currently available, you probably wouldn't have any competition, either.

Thanks =) It makes sense and I might even be able to pull it off.

Thought I'd give you guys a update, the site is going well and my traffic is also increasing, got about 3 leads for my dating affiliate program so far.

If anybody could share any info they have on amounts of traffic and conversions for these types of sites I would be very grateful.

At the moment I can tell you that if you have a 1000 pageviews a day it is not that much for this type of thing. I am pushing to get about 10 000 pageviews a day before I start looking at conversions.

Thanks again all, take it ez.

Hi again, was wondering what kind of traffic you are talking about here, like the amounts, conversions.

      Hi Bill,
I read in the forum that you have an adult affiliate website for dating. My adult affiliate website will launch in a little less than a month. It was supposed to be sooner, but I had some set backs....My mom passed, devastated me...but now I'm back on track. Anyway, my site is promoting adult toy products, webcams and a sugar daddy site, so I'm promoting 3 affiliates. Do you have any suggestions in regards to SEO? I've done a ton of research but there is so much out there and it's hard to know who and what to believe.....I would greatly appreciate your help.
      Cheers,
      Rainy

I have some experience in the adult industry as it's where I started my IM career. If you have boobs traffic, you should probably promote boobs niche sites, big boobs, etc... Check your stats and see what people are looking for when they come to your site and put up ads that will do well.

The penis enlargement niche is huge also and I would imagine it would do ok with your adult traffic providing it's not traded or forced traffic. Also, as suggested, adult dating sites should do ok on a site like that.

Pimproll is a good adult aff program that has a ton of tools and promotional materials for you to use. I am an affiliate with them but not much into adult anymore. If you want to learn more about driving adult traffic, GG&Jims board is a good resource for adult webmasters.

How could you earn from adult sites as Google Adsense will penalize such sites?

yes I am also facing a problem with my adult website.. but I got a rite track. I do bookmarks on adult bookmarking website. image host websites are the best place of sharing website images with link to website. Forum website like exbii, bookmarking website like "kliprr dot com" helped me a lot.

I have promoted an adult site before and for me the best way to increase traffic is by making a blog and adding a new post everyday. You can also submit an article to directories but it will be limited because many sites won't accept adult contents.
