Hey,
I've read around and some folks have mentioned that there is going to be a Google PR update this week.

My question is - what does it mean? and how can i also know when Google makes such an update?

Thanks.

You can't know in advance when it is going to happen, nobody knows it just happens once in a while ( i see now it is happening more often then ever before, every 2-3 months )

Google PR update means exactly what the name tells you : Google PageRank of website and pages will update, meaning your website will either get PR, lose PR or its PR will stay unchanged, this all depends on what Actual PR backlinks you have pointing at your website

I thought that Google PR changes every time that Google crawls your website.
That's why i found those updates odd.
So the Google PR update basically means that Google is doing a massive backlink checks for allot of small websites that don't get checked on a more regular basis?

Google's official PR updates constantly, but you can never see it.

The toolbar PR is what everyone is talking about when they mention a PR update. The toolbar PR is the PR you see from different applications like SEOQuake. Google only updates that a few times a year, and even then it is usually lagging behind what the REAL PR is.

Oh, and in addition, NOBODY can tell you when the next PR update will be. It might be next week. It might be next summer. Nobody knows.
