Does a VPN is as SAFE as a Private Proxy for running SEO softwares?

I'm in deep trouble as I'm unable to buy Private proxies because of the payment option. (Paypal isn't supported here, just Moneybookers).
Somehow, I managed a VPN by which I's able to change the IP. By checking Whatismyip.com, I saw that it says below the IP address line,
"No proxy detected".

So, my question is, is this proxy safe for running softs like SENuke, Sb etc. which safety a Private Proxy could ensure? Will it guard like the same Private Proxies do? Will I need additional proxies with the VPN?

Please give me your valuable and Important opinion. I badly need it.

    A VPN will work fine.

    It won't really be effective for Scrapebox though. Scrapebox will burn through the IP address faster than any VPN I have seen can change IP's. For everything else though, a VPN works great. I use one all the time.

      Thanks for your opinion. Once I went through your post on HMA VPN and I's impressed. (And now it's got a PR of 4 too ) But I couldn't manage it for payment limitation. The day Paypal will be available here, I'll check it out.
      Anyway, I'm really afraid with Scrapebox. It's my main concern as it's such functionality which interact directly with Google and I don't want to be banned by Big G. So, would it be safe to run SB under VPN? (I can have about 35 different IPs).
      Also, what these mean:TCP & UDP ?

    Mike already said you that a VPN is not going to be effective for SB. Here is an alternative even though these is not recommended for slow speed problem. You can use Real Hide IP. This software will allow you to change proxies but as I said earlier you would not get enough good speed required for smooth browsing. You had better to use private proxies. You can get 5 proxies for 5$ from fiverr. So no worry.

      If I could use fiverr (That means using Paypal), I wont be afraid about all these. I would already bought Elite Private Proxies.
