I'm Scared to put Clickbank on my site

I just found a really good product on clickbank that just came out and is a really good fit with my audience.

However, I'm worried about what might happen if I, lets say put a banner ad on every page of my website.

The reason is, my site is ranking really well for a really difficult keyword. The competitors are 10 year old sites, wiki page, and official government site pages.

The niche is a career related how to with information on the career and training.

My site is less than a year old, but ranking well since I did get a lot of great backlinks and the content is really great.

I have adsense on at the moment, but I'm wondering what will happen if this kind of site all of a sudden has affiliate links to clickbank products on it.
I wouldn't be worried if the niche was like a review type niche site or something of that nature.

Any thoughts? The other option I considered was to create a separate page for my product review and then link to that page from my homepage or in the sidebar. That way I indirectly promote the product from the pages that are ranking highly and getting a lot of traffic.

Thanks everyone.

    .
That's how I setup my sites that promote a Clickbank product.

I create my own sales page, then send traffic directly to the Clickbank Checkout page, bypassing the original Clickbank squeeze page.

I usually either run Clickbank or Adsense, not both at the same time.

I've heard that if you do that, you only get the commission if they purchase right then and there. If they leave and come back to the checkout page then you don't get the commission.

      Is this correct?

I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

You can still set the CB cookie.

          There is a CB cookie?
Do we have to set it ourselves?

          How long does it last?

Sorry about the ignorance. I've never promoted a CB product before.

Why on earth would you want to promote Clickbank stuff? Most of it f****** crap. You can see Clickbank steering towards a downward spiral and the reason it most of the stuff on there is useless.

CB has a lot of junk, but some of the products are actually useful, you just have to dig.

build your list. Try squeeze page and sell the ClickBank on the back end.

@WraithSarko ClickBank does over a billion dollars they are not in the business of not paying affiliate partners.

I wonder if this is the same for Amazon? I have direct links that lead straight to Amazon.

@horst agree that the merchant should have its pages tested.

While we are on the topic of clickbank. Remember not to run Google Adwords campaigns as they don't seem to like info products in general and affiliate sites.

Split test between simple in-content links and banners. I find that in-content links outperform banner ads (on most sites). Don't be scared to change things up a bit, your ranking will be fine.

I remember when I was scared to change my homepage copy a bit and include CB links. Then after a couple months of ****ty Adsense earnings I removed all Adsnese ads and started selling a CB product - went from $60/month to $1600/month, lol.

One thing to consider - it's much harder to sell a site that's monetized through CB. Like way harder.

Also, especially if you make good money with one site, consider building 2-5 more sites and dominating the niche. Create your own product, make it better than whatever crap is on CB (if possible) and b00m another overnight success story.
