1. What strategies, criteria are people using to select potential ClickBank products? I know the (Gravity= or > 100) + (Commission = or> $30)Formula.

What else would you guys recommend?

2. When doing your Adwords test campaign for a new product, what most important numbers, guidelines, ratios do you look for after about 500 clicks?

The most important criteria for clickbank - look at the pitchpage of the product! Does it looks like selling thing? Do you like it? Are you ready to buy it? If so - its good! Don't go to the most expensive - you may get high affiliate fee, but the ordinary customer will not going to buy it! (we are in the recession, remember?). Find middle-price, good-looking stuff in your niche.
Also use your pre-sell page - it works great if you know how to write it!
Gravity of a product, as for me, is not so important (it just means that this product selling better/worse at the last time - so what?! Cristmas tree in July has gravity 0! But in Cristmas - 100000!
You should look at % of returnes (it means if the customer love the product!)

And the most important - don't beleave to vendor's oppinion!

If reading the salespage convinces you to buy, then it's a winner.

Both PPC Classroom, PPC ninja and some other coaches advice to promote what is already selling because the product has been proven to sell. Wo can argue with that?
So --> go for high gravity

  • To keep things easy for me i just go over to cbengine.com anf look at the top selling products that affiliates are making a killing on this helps me from overthinking my product selection..i figure if it has a gravity in the 400-800 range affiliates are making money with these products.. next it just becomes a question of finding higg converting keywords to build articles or PPC or blog content around i just use googles keyword tool this get my juices flowing.

i am NOT necessarely convinced that 30/100 is such a great thing as we learned from "Commision Blueprint".

100 as a MIN gravity....means market is pretty much saturated.

i agree with $30 min payout....but this would eliminate almost ALL health/niche products since most of them pay 20ish..and some of them are GOOD sellers.

Also...with such a formula you get ONLY the (so called) top sellers which will always be the hardest to sell with zillions of competition on PPC, diet, make money, things like that. Not fun to promote things which everyone promotes.

I like CB MAINLY for the fact that it has odd, rare niches, products which target markets you didnt even know it existed before....and NOT for its mainstream products.

Some of those advices and tips (like commission blueprint) come from VENDORS...and i highly, highly doubt that some "Gurus" really know the AFFILIATE site of things and how HARD it can be as an affiliate, as opposed to a vendor.
