Am I missing something?

Being new to ppc, I am taking it slow. After building a landing page, with 65 clicks I had four sales. I was very excited. But the next 100 clicks brought nothing.
My first campaign was similar, different product same results. On launch my conversion was 3% for a short while, then nothing. Two hundred clicks and nothing.
Is this a common phenomenon, or am I missing something obvious?

    Very common - this is one of the frustrating things.

    It comes in waves.

    This can be a problem with PPC as you can spend and get no results.

    So are there any tips, tricks or solutions or is acceptance the proven method? I am having a damned hard and inconsistent time with PPC. Someone has to have broken the code, legitimately, without charging an obscene amount for the information (usually recycled crap). Please help.

    try to split test on your offers and landing page .

    Also make sure that your ad copy is consistent with what your offer claims .
