Honestly I don't even focus on how many times I use the keyword in one article. I just make sure it makes sense.

    Unless something like

    kw: how to cook fish

In order to know how to cook fish you have to blah blah blah. How to cook fish is easy. We learned how to cook fish in 1995. I met a girl that knew how to cook fish. She wasn't good at knowing how to cook fish. Therefore, I taught her how to cook fish.

    ^ then that sucks.

I would have to agree with the last post. Worry more about the overall quality of the article. If you need an actual number, I personally keep my keyword density at about 1% or less. As long as the article makes sense and has related terms included, you should be fine.

Do a keyword research and use your keywords in meta description. In the post keep your keywords percentage to around 4-5% according to your article. Make sure to use keyword in the first and the last para of the article most importantly.

It depends on how long your article is. Once every 250 words may be too little = 0.4% keyword density.

You can go with 2 - 3% keyword density in your copy. Which would mean use your keyword 2 to 3 times for every 100 words. But I do agree it has to make sense and not be "stuffed".

We can use keywords 2 to 3% of contents which is considered as the organic and genuine articles. If keywords are used more and more times on article then keyword stuffing situation occurs. So, 2 to 3% is the best.

Hi, I'm new here on Warrior Forum and this is my first post.
According to me, if you are using Wordpress then here is a plugin name Keyword density checker, to examine the keyword density how much keyword should you use in a post, no matter if your post is lengthy or short the keyword density checker will automatically set it up. Have fun and happy blogging. Thanks for reading thanks a lot!

Actually a keyword density should be at least 3% to 5 % not greater than 5% keep in mind!

  • 4-5% is way too much. Think about it guys, 5% means putting the same keyword 25 times in a 500 word article. Nobody writes like that.

1% or less is where I would suggest aiming these days. But really, it doesn't matter that much. As long as you have the keyword in your title, description, headline and at least once or twice on the page, along with some alternates/synonyms, you'll be fine.

    Premiumonlinewriting - totally agree!

Look at it this way. Forget about the %. If you really need to have a %, go with what Premiumonlinewriting just stated. Overall - how does it read? KW stuffing is the number 1 thing today that you want to avoid. Whatever your content, it's gotta read natural. Try to read your piece out load. How does it sound. Get someone to listen to you, what do they say. Do you want to read the article in #2 on how to cook a fish? I didn't think so.

Keep in mind that you want returning visitors and not just one offs. If they don't like what the read the first time they come to your site, the probability of a no-return is high.

Work with variations of your KW and break it down. Have several mentions of the "how" the "to" the "cook" the "fish" - just not next to each other. That count as well to your density but it will read better and seem more natural.

      Keyword density is irrelevant.

Even the ones who say don't worry, STILL come
      up with a percentage.

If you are worrying about and checking keyword density,
guess what. Your writing and SEO stink. Period.

I agree with the other replies here. Your goal should be to include your keywords naturally, and if it reads naturally, the density is likely right where it should be.

Your keyword density should be anywhere from 3% - 5%. Your keyword should show up at least once for every 100 words. You want to make you dont over stuff your article with your keyword because thats one of things Google keeps an eye on. So a keyword density of 3% - 5% should do the trick.

    • There are no specific rules on how many times to use a keyword in your post. It is important to make sure that your article flows naturally. Don't use your keywords excessively. Focus on quality and include relevant information in your post.

Use your keyword in article's title, at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of your article.

Write your article, so it will look naturally. Focus more on your readers' reading experience and not on keyword density. Create your articles for humans rather than for bots. Doing so you will benefit much more.

Having your keyword repeated several times in a article depends on how long your article is.But having a keyword density more than 1-2% can be a problem. You can use LSI keywords in case you want to repeat your keywords.

3% is safe. You can even add more as long as it sounds natural. But don't concentrate on keywords too much. Quality articles will outrank keyword stuffed articles.

You should use the maximum of three, do not overdo it for Google will penalize pages that use too many keywords.

There's no magic number my friend. Focus on the content and see where your KW density ends up. If it's between 1-4% you're golden.
