Anyone here ever tried hiring a VA for doing your keyword research?

I'm thinking about hiring one from odesk to find me low-competition keyword. are they usually good?

Also, just wondering, if they are able to find easy to rank for keywords, why do they work in Odesk and not building thier own MNF sites ?

I personally would'nt. I don't think I could trust anyone else without SEO and google knowledge and experience to find my a good keyword for my websites/articles or domains

Why don't you try hiring someone on fiverr? I know a few people who can do the work for $5

You know keyword research really doesn't take that much time to do right? You'd be better off doing it yourself, and using that money to hire a VA to build content or something else.

If you are going to outsource your keyword research, I would recommend you take the time to teach your new VA on how YOU want the keyword research done. Everyone has other techniques, numbers, ... that they want to follow, so if you want the results you expect from your VA you will be spending some time teaching them YOUR basics.

Personally, I do my keyword research myself, I have VA's for other parts of my business, but I'm too nervous to outsource my keyword research

      QFT.

Basically if you hire a VA for $2/hour or whatever they cost and don't train them, then you will simply get a CSV export from the Google Adwords tool at the end of the day. They will bill you for 8 hours of work for something that took a whole 30 seconds to do.

And then lets assume you do train them, that's at least 3-4 hours of your time plus paying them.

It may not seem like a lot of money, but the time adds up quickly.

And then assume that the first VA or two don't work out, so you have to go through the process of finding a new one, training them, and making sure they do their job.

VA's are better for stuff like writing articles, building links, and other things which aren't at the heart of your online business.

Keyword research is THE most important part of SEO. If you think some guy you're paying for $2 an hour it going to be able to:

    1. Analyze your competition
    2. Determine buyer intent
    3. Judge search volume

you've had a MUCH better experience outsourcing on Odesk than I have.
