Wordpress "Post"vs"Page"

What is your opionion? Should an Article be placed on it's own page or should it just be posted? Do you think it makes any difference regarding the SEO of the site ?

    It is all HTML. Makes no difference whatsoever.

    This is a nice one mate..

    I use pages only for those articles that i do not want to show on first page as blogs. I do not see any other reason to build a page.

    It might be the idea of static post which will not go on archive... Yeah that is i think...

    Anybody else?

      So, if it's all coding (html) wouldn't it stand to reason that Google would favor one over the other. Case in point. I have sites that are programed the old fashion way ( before Wordpress ) and they maintain there ranking positions longer than any of my Wordpress Sites. I'm not a programmer, but I'm now wondering if the "Page" result is the same code as the "Post" result.

    Well, the time stamp is likely the most noticeable difference between those two pages. Sometimes these will exist on both pages and posts but not always.

    Google will favor new content in light of old content so having the time stamp can both help and hurt you.

    I'd stick large pieces of content and "about me" type publications on your site to pages.

    Posts are more things you want people to know you did at a certain period of time. Blogging, product reviews, etc.

    Regardless, this debacle always depends on the structure of your site!

    From a programming perspective, both are the same thing. Depending on how you've set up your permalink structure, posts may or may not have the date in the URL. The end result is all HTML to Google, so it's more for your internal structure more than anything.

    Only difference is in organisation, personally I keep posts only for blog posts for categories and other things that most themes do to group posts.

    No difference to SEO. All html
