I have an excellent site. It's got stunning information and content. Now, what do I do? I have no search engine traffic. I have a Facebook page for it. I've heard about submitting to directories, but the directories I've spotted have low PR for the category pages I want to submit to.

1. What are the best paid directories? You can list your favorites, or provide a list, and keep in mind that I'm already sort of familiar with the usual list.
2. What other methods can I use right now to get all those backlinks coming in? I have great content, mind you, and would be considered an authority in my niche.

Let others recognize your great content. If you keep posting quality content on a regular basis, then you will get recognized by others in your niche. Short term, black hat SEO tricks seem to be monitored well by Google these days. It just seems like paying for links is the wrong way to go these days. Be patient, work hard, good things will come.

    Theres some good tips here.

But spamming my own content aside.

    1. Best directories are Dmoz, other paid ones are expensive and not really worth it unless you have a decent budget (Better ways to spend money if you only have a little). Oh and niche related directories provide some value. Google "niche+directory".

    2. What niche is your website? Your tactics should be niche relevant. For example, most niches you can do guest posting to get links. My main niche (Gambling), i cannot do that.

    Good luck.

Paid directories won't get you far, especially if your niche haves some competition.
You should try and build some quality backlinks from different platforms like web 2.0's,article directories, press releases, guests posts etc and your rankings will skyrock!
