      Just to say that you don't need unique content to rank for such keywords (just a few quality backlinks and H1 tags for this keyword in your website and you are ready!)

        It's actually feasible, for medium competitive keywords, if the unique optimized content is located on an exact match domain name for the term.

        One approach is to have a 2-word keyword based EMD and then optimize out a 2-word keyword based home page, and then use 3-word keywords (based on the EMD but adding a word at the end) to make additional optimized pages on the site.

        This actually works surprisingly well, you won't necessarily rank top 10 in each case but about a third of the pages will, in my experience.

    Yes & No.

    You remind me of my site which was standing in top 3 wihtout any backlink, but at that time, I didn't know what was keyword research. Finally, I end up 10-20 visitors/month traffic beside my in top 3. That's sad.

    As everyone above said, you cant only do this for low traffic, low competition keywords.

    See, the point is, if you write good quality - unique content, the links and authority will come automatically (but its a slow process).

    By working on off-page (health, good, white-hat) seo, your just putting a catalyst in the reaction.

    See, the point is, if you write good quality - unique content, the links and authority will come automatically (but its a slow process).

    Yes, depending on what OP means.

    I have multiple sites with large numbers of top 10 search rankings without building backlinks to them. Many of these rankings are for highly competitive terms, not just long tail.

    I have 2 authority sites that were built on the principal of creating content which passively attract links.

    We have however worked on onpage and onsite SEO - but I'm assuming OP used SEO as meaning backlinking.

    These two sites have attracted a combined 200k in backlinks over the last 10 years.

    I've also been building 2 sites using the same principals over the last year - again, both are not only attracting links, but attracting authority links.

    None of this is by accident - many articles are specifically designed to attract links, sometimes an entire article is designed to attract just one link from a specific site, and the key is a marketing strategy which ensures people, particularly those who are most likely to give links, find out about the sites, and do so in a way that makes them want to link.

    So yes, it's possible, but in my experience it works best in the context of a marketing strategy.

    It's not about only uniqueness, but also about relevancy and quality. If you can meet these 3 requirements then you can rank in top 10. Last but not the least it has be a stellar content so that it readers feel the urge to share it at various social media
    platform and social sharing is a must to be in top 10.

      Dear Friend,
      Its depend on your keyword length. If it is long that is possible or if it is short, it is not possible for you. But Google all time like unique content. Unique content is only for blog website not for business site.
