Optimizing my blog! Any ideas and suggestions?

Hello,

I am doing SEO for my blog and I didn't do SEO for at least 10 years, soooo...What has changed? What's important? Do I need description or keywords tags and what should they look like?

    I tend to use the main keyword in the title, description, tag and category.
    I also sprinkle into the main post any related keywords. Then I put the post live and will bookmark it in various places. I manage to rank on page 1 or 2 pretty quickly by doing these things.

    Link your blog to your Google profile. Ever noticed those thumbnails appearing on search results with titles of articles? That's Authorship and Google's using it for rankings.

      I would highly recommend you to do the basics of SEO.
      If you're using WordPress has you website platform.
      I recommend you to install those two Plugins:
      All in one SEO (is free you can find on Wordpress plugins directory)
      SEOPressor (this one is payed but I really recommend it)

      Then for searching keywords you can use the google keyword tool (remember to search on exact match and not broad) that just the really basic. Optimization but It will help you a lot in the long term even if you just make a little effort every time you add a new post.

    Well a lot has changed, especially for off-page SEO. But for on-page you just have to do the basics: optimize your tags, interlink pages, optimize your content for your chosen keywords, include anchor texts, include important plugins like social media plugins. Then do not forget to also include a call to action at the end of your content and an opt-in/subscriber form would also help.
