Is it worth it to answer tons of questions in answer sites for traffic? Please what's your thought.

I paid a poster to do it who did really well thought out and researched answers. they were not garbage, they got tons of #1 picks etc... I got so little traffic that it was pitiful.

He did 300 answers related to 3 niches 100 answers for each.

    That's just my experience.

IMO you would be better off answering those questions on your own domain/page, then you have more control over the user experience (no competition once traffic is on your own domain/page).

Build an FAQ page on your own domain & answer the same/similar niche questions.

Really that's what the Google Hummingbird update was about, question type search queries.

I created 100 yahoo answer backlinks. The result was very good. You can try it.

If you think that your effort is worth it, you could have answered the question at a high pace. It means that you did your best to make him understand the answer that you are posting, which is why he may have picked your answer as the best. Best of all, he will thank you and may recommend this to his friends.

You can get targeted traffic from those sites. But if I recall correctly. Yahoo answers and some others are No follow sites which won't help with seo.

Do not waste your time... Those people are NOT going to visit your website for a reason you just post it there... Better work on your SEO from QUALITY sources and try to build traffic from SEARCH ENGINES!

Some people might not visit your site truly, but I believe that Answer sites can rank in Google or any other SE. So some SE users can visit your site. I think I'll give it a try and see how it turns out.

I actually started doing this in bingo because i noticed yahoo answers pages ranking super easily.

    Basically what i did was..

    1) Create yahoo answers account, ask question.
    2) Use second account to answer question.
    3) Use other accounts to favourite.
    4) Spam the **** out of the pages with links to rank.

    Worked like a charm but...

    1) My competition started posting their links on the page (*******s).
    2) The CTR is very low.

I basically came to the conclusion that you may as well just create content answering questions on your own domain and rank it yourself.

The same thing goes for things like Youtube videos, but there are more creative ways to monetize Youtube videos well.

    Anyway, hope that helped.

I thought this thread is the same thread I answered a few minutes ago.
It's relevant to a forum posting thread as well.
Nevertheless, forum marketing/answer threads works for my non-IM niche sites.
I guess I'm just fortunate to have found/hired a team who does things extraordinarily. Haha.

yes. you have to work your way to level 2 so your links can become clickable. make your answer look natural and not spammy. this will take some work.

we must reiterate that y!answers links are nofollow, so just take note of that.

      good luck

I suppose it works the same as forum posting, it requires a lot of time and the payoff isn't that great.

If I had to chose I would either stick to SEO or PPC and in case of my business classified ads.

Traffic is always good and if they are coming from relevant pages then it would be great for conversion.

But the problem is the traffic is not very high from these sites. If you don't want to depend entirely on SEO (search engines) for traffic, then it is a great mix to the game..

Based on my experience, you will get indexed, and will have traffic, but it might not turn into clicks. So if you are trying to get traffic to your site, it's doable. For conversions, you need to learn more on interact with readers.

Generally links on answer sites tend to get more CTR then other websites as they can be answer to someones question so i believe it's worth but make sure you answer to relevant question this will drive maximum CTR.
