Domain Authority on my site needs to increase - How?

Hi,

I've just spent the whole of yesterday reading on Domain Authority. Some say backlinks help from High PR and others say rather focus on guest blogging.

I used Tribepro and onlywire for social links,etc. Not sure if it's worth it anymore to get my domain authority up.

Note my skills lie in system adminstration of web hosting Not SEO so still learning here.

My competitors seem to be having more external following links on opensiteexplorer.org than what I have. Is that what I should focus on and how?

    Domain Authority needs backlinks from other websites.
    But do you really need it asap ?

    Guest blogging will not help you anymore! At least after the updates... Concentrate on Social Bookmarking, web2.0 sites, Forum marketing, etc!

      Quite possibly the worst advice I have ever heard......

      Guest blogging is the best way forward and I continue to do this because it brings me "INSTANT" results.

      If you guest blog to websites with spun, crap, useless, pointless content, THAT is what will get your website penalized.

      If you always provide unique quality content, Google will NEVER catch you guest blogging.

      As the man himself stated and repeated countless times in his recent video, "It's website which gain links from using spun crap content are the sites which will get hit"

      Use unique content which is not out there and your laughing.
