UPDATE:

The problem was the nameservers. Wordpress has been successfully installed!

Well I think I know what is going wrong. I deleted my database but the IP I was connected to using my FTP client showed that it was still there. So,...

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it. But apparently I did not install WordPress correctly because when I try to go to admin log in I get a 404 error.

So I have my domain and hosting set up. Just downloaded wordpress on hostgator...and now I'm stuck. I have absolutely no idea where to go from...
