Affiliate Marketing - Are All Keywords Created Equal

If you are involved in affiliate marketing, you might be wondering if all keywords are created equal. The answer to that question is definitely not. Some are worth a whole lot more than others. So, what makes them different? Let's find out.

Some of you might already be saying, "no kidding"... Okay, stick with me though. I know this might not be a huge revelation to most of you that some keywords are more valuable than others, but what might surprise you is how you should be differentiating between the paid keywords and the search keywords. Were you aware that it has nothing to do with search volume!

Here is where the difference comes in. Let's say you have one person searching for "dog food" and another person searching for "organic dog food for senior dogs" which one do you think is ready to purchase the product? I would have to go with the one that specifically put in "organic dog food for senior dogs". Even though the long tail keywords may not have a million searches per day, it will convert better than just the generic term. And it's pretty easy for an affiliate marketer to own the top organic spot in the search engines for this phrase.

Sounds rather simple, right! The keywords that aren't used as often are more likely to bring in more sales then the generic terms that will receive more traffic. When you are being specific in terms of what your buyer is searching for, you will receive more sales from your target audience.

Once you learn how to target your specific buyers through the lesser term keywords, your affiliate marketing business will take off. Don't worry as much about the keywords that are just attracting the search volume and go after the ones that are attracting the buyers.
