The qualities of a successful PPC affiliate.

Hi
I mentor PPC affiliates and wonder why there is such a high turnover of people. Without knowing the actual reasons why people ;
Don't start
Give up
Are afraid
Not interested
This got me thinking about what qualities successful PPC affiliates have and what I think they need to become successful. I define success by making a living from PPC not how much they earn.

Here's the list in no particular order, I would love comments

Qualities of a successfully PPC affiliate marketeer

1.) A basic education and understanding of the Internet.

2.) Fearless and willing to take calculated risks.

3.) Willing to Fail then Succeed.

4.) Willing to Succeed, Fail, then succeed again.

5.) Someone who does not over think.

6.) Able to think outside the box.

7.) Has the ability to bounce back quickly after setbacks.

8.) Not afraid of hard work.

9.) A positive outlook through the ups and downs.

10.) Able to work on their own.

    12) Patience - do not have to make a million a day when you start the campaign, start small, make it profitable, then expand.

    14) And this needs to be said twice ... think outside the box.

    Affiliate marketers and PPC, my opinions.

    Why they don't start? Assuming they know about PPC (not all may be aware of PPC), a major reason may be that they simply don't want to spend cold hard cash. It seems to be a major reason in these forums.

    Give up? They realize it's not as simple as it seems. Probably lost more than they can make. Not a surprise when getting a small percentage of a sale when competing to others who make a larger margin.

    Are afraid? For the above reasons I suppose.

    As for qualities of successful PPC advertisers:

    Won't help much.

    >> 2.) Fearless and willing to take calculated risks.

    A good quality for any good business person, the calculate risk part anyway.

    >> 3.) Willing to Fail then Succeed.

    If you learn about PPC first, you should reduce the risk of failure.

    Having an analytical mind will greatly help. There's lots of data in PPC and one needs to read and make decisions from it.

    Patience, yes. Goes for any business person.

    2. Good Networking Skills (building relationships with AMs)
    3. Willingness to share information with others
    4. Not resting on your Past successes

    For the first few years of digital marketing I kept trying to do PPC then lost my shirt and went back to SEO which was my bread and butter.

    Every 6 months or so I jumped back into the pool and spent a few grand then got out as my ROI was embarrassingly low.

    It wasn't till my 6th or 7th attempt that I really started to find my grove.
