Help Needed with Million Dollar Software Business Startup

Hi,

I decided to just jump in with both feet and post a request for help. So here we go...

I am a professional software developer who has made a living creating software for Windows for 12 years now.

For the last couple of years I have been working on a software I want to offer to the public. It has changed names a couple of times, and I have added functions to it as I find more useful stuff to add to it.

I really haven't worked up the guts to put it up for sale to the general public yet, but I have found that unless I really do something to get things going, it will never happen.

I really want to make this into a million dollar business, and to be honest, I really think my programming is good enough for that. I also have dozens of ideas for new products that would complement eachother perfectly.

The software I am about to finish up now is a followup manager with some nice productive twists to it. Ideal for sales people doing any kind of relationship selling, Network Marketers needing a tool to keep track of dozens of followups every day.

I need help from someone experienced in online marketing, preferrably Software Launches in planning this business and getting it going to make my dreams come true, recover from a bad personal bankruptcy a few years back, and create the dream life I know I am capable of creating for me and my family.

Would someone please help me out here?

The right person who are willing to help me out here will receive generous compensation.

Update: The traffic on the ultimatefollowups blog is rising fast, which makes the videos load really slow. I will upload the videos to a video sharing site tomorrow and link to them from the blog. That should help allot on the speed.

    Hi Olav,

If you don't have any experience with product launches and you are afraid to do that, my advice is to give away the software, free or for a small price to a bunch of interested people and start building trust.
People will review or software, will say what they think about it and then, when you notice, the orders are rolling in.

After that, all will come naturally and is very important to put something to the market: Black or white, big or small - If you think you are good enough, don't be afraid to show your products to the world.

Sounds like a promising project. Have you ever sold software online before? In the best scenario, you would have a current email list of both prospects and past customers. Creating an event product launch could leverage those contacts for a nice payday.

If you dont have a list yet, the first thing I would do is begin building a base of prospects. Reach out to any contacts you have in the software world, and begin building relationships with list owners in that niche. You can still manage to pull off a nice launch this year if you start building a base now. A good way to do that is here with a WSO. Offer a good discount, and Warriors will be happy to purchase and provide honest reviews to build your credibility.

I built a piece of software two years ago, just like you did. Unfortunately i spent hundreds of thousands for it. I has taken me a while but i finally figured how to sell it now. But in order to sell it needs a few more tweaks.

Please pm and let me know what your software does and who the market is. I will share some of the strategies we are using to get results with you.

I will tell you right now that the first thing to do is make this free to a few people. Do not be afraid to give away at least 100 copies of the software in return for feedback and testimonials.

If nobody wants a free version then you are really going to face and uphill battle. Either the software has to be tweaked to meet your customers expectations or you have to find an exceelent marketing approach to position and sell it.

There is one way to market test software. PM me and i will share with you

Good luck. I know what you are going through right now and all you need to do is some market testing to get this going
