Good morning,

You'll probably notice this is my first post. I've been vaguely interested in this subject matter for a while now, and after running a completely unsuccessful "campaign" on reddit I decided to do some in depth research on the subject. I discovered warrior forum last night and now I'm hitting an information overload, but I'm pretty sure I've become obsessed with the subject.

Basically, I'm looking for a mentor and/or partner in exchange for my skills as a web developer. The one thing I've noticed from browsing both clickbank as well as some of the sites being sold on here is that they are... frankly, crap. I believe I can bring the level of quality of the sites WAY past the average. I also have experience in google adwords, although not nearly the depth and breadth I have with web development.

Anyway, if you are a professional IM who's interested, I can send you some examples of my work and you can send me some examples of successful campaigns you've run. Obviously, if you are not an expert in the field, please don't try to just use me.

Finally, if you are wondering, I am the "doer" type, so no need to worry about that. Like I said, I've already attempted to do a campaign, though it did fail.

Thanks!
#mentor

Crap based on what? Design, SEO, product?

Ive seen plenty of great looking websites that are stuck back on page 50 of Google, gathering dust.

Im a developer of 10 years, and I can tell you that having web design skills in this field accounts for about 15% of whats required in order to make money.

Design in particular. I don't doubt what you are saying, that's why I'd like to learn the actual fundamentals of building traffic and getting conversions. However, I can't imagine that these squeeze pages wouldn't benefit from some better design.

I think a problem here is the way you're looking at this.

When you say you've done 'a campaign', do you mean you've done one campaign?

I've done dozens, likely hundreds before I starting finding things that work.

If you think about it, your 'failed' campaign is actually a success. You might not have made money or collected leads, but did you learn anything? By learning what not to do, you get one step closer to your goal.

Set a series of small goals. I don't know where you're at right now, but an example of a small goal would be to capture a lead. Yup, just one lead. I'm serious.

Then you can make a goal of getting more leads while optimizing your funnel in order to increase conversion rates.

Your next goal could be to sell a low cost front end product. Yes, just one. By making all these small easy goals, your belief will go up and all these small successes can lead to massive success down the road.

Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it.

I am with scott, the issue is more your perspective than anything else. For every success there are a ton of "failures" before it. The idea is that when you win, you win big. You make winning a habit, it becomes consistent...but this does not mean that failure has been eliminated.

If I had to choose between copy and design, I would choose design. If i had to choose between content and design, I would choose content...if i had to choose value to demand versus ANY - that is the key.

This forum is about "INTERNET MARKETING"...Learn 'MARKETING' and you will succeed with or without design, in fact I have made tons of money with NO WEBSITE AT ALL...

Learn the Basics of Marketing and Direct Sales...then you can use your design wizardry to set yourself apart quality wise from the competition.

Focus on METHODS - forget strategies and tactics, and by all means stay away from the shovel selling gurus...

I was thinking of starting my own thread, but I guess this would do. I'm looking for a mentor as well. I've read a lot and already know quite a bit about IM, but that's the thing - I've been privy to so much information, I don't know where start.

I'm looking for a mentor who preferably has had success in IM and proof to show it. I don't know what I can offer in return, but believe me, I take returning favors very seriously. You will also get my loyalty, and you certainly will be part of every step I take in IM.

Please PM me if you're interested.

Here is a thread on this forum that might be useful for many of you. A lot of people have volunteers mentoring time, and naturally many others have found mentors too:

Smart decision to learn from a mentor.

I can't teach you a lot because I'm still failing my way forward but I know someone who can. Someone who went the path of TV & IM and is very successful at it. His name is Kevin Trudeau and if you do nothing but follow what he teaches you'll make $10'000/month by the time you get to him physically and can shake his hands to thank him. Here's a free 14 CD Audio Course he put out to help people. I encourage you to listen to it and find out if this is really for you.

It gives you the right training from who do you listen to, how teachable you are, your willingness to accept change, your attitude (80-99%) and the 4 steps of learning.

      Enjoy,
      Philipp Knechtle
