I only know that you can post articles, ask for other websites to make a review for you. But it seems that it's not the instant way

(What I think)
1.you have to viral your news at social media ( fb, twitter, instrgram)
2. You can take help from live exchange site ( such as addmefast dot com, like4like)
here you can submit your link and viewers will browse your link for 20 to 30 seconds

  Google web master tool can give you insights and advice on what to do on your site to get it ranked higher on Google but it won't rank your site higher just by having your site registered with webmaster tools. Plugins can also help/hurt SEO which gets you more organic traffic.

About the Facebook ads. I've tried it and it gives very little results for the price paid. So i don't recommend it plus, I've personally tried it and it overcharged me. By the way, there was no refund or a reply from Facebook side except that they removed and stopped that ad almost immediately.

you can't get instant traffic except if you pay for it. You can get decently fast traffic if you go the social media way or you can get slow but long time traffic if you go the seo route. I'd suggest you start in the middle, social media traffic can come fast enough in a couple of weeks if you create and grow your social media accounts. If you manage to post amazing news content it also has the chance to go viral and that will mean a lot of traffic really fast

I would suggest finding similar articles online to the ones you've published and then comment on them with an intelligent response- linking back to your article (for more information on the topic). A quick way to get people interested in what you're talking about, because you're giving them a way to read more into what they've already read on a different site.

You can pay for traffic from places like outbrain and taboola they work great for news sites. Put effort into creating great article titles(great articles also but a great article needs a great attention getting title) and you can do well getting traffic from these places.

Honestly, you can get instant traffic to your site through social media marketing. But as per my personal experience, you won't get much targeted traffic. This will result in high bounce rate that affect your site negatively.

Best way to get targeted traffic is proper SEO. It takes time, but you get the best result. Do not go for instant gratification. Work hard smartly.

first who is your target audience?
make fb,twitter and google plus fan page and keep update your audience
make some unique documentaries for your audience
make info graphics and place your website URL on that

Do proper SEO, create a Facebook page, post quality contents on a daily basis, use other social networks too. There's no thing such as instant traffic. Be patient and persistent, visits will come soon.
