Ok, I started a facebook contest today and now I am unsure if I am ok. Any comments would be appreciated. The text says It's contest time. Want a chance to win _____?

As long as the ad and product are compliant with Facebook's policies then you should be ok.

When announcing the winners, be sure not to announce it's for the Facebook contest as Facebook require you to contact winners outside of Facebook.

You cannot incentivise people to share your post. To be risk free and compliant replace the text with "a SHARE would be really helpful and remember SHARING is caring & caring is nice"

This way people are subtlety reminded that they better share or they won't be picked lol and the difference in actual engagement and shares is negligible in my experience.

Much better to have a few less shares than to have your post or page deleted!

This is something I did not know that you can't incentivise people to share a post.
I knew that facebook don't accept incentivisation to like a page but this is the first time I've heard about posts.
You learn something new everyday, thank you for sharing.

You can ask people to like, share and comment, but it has to be done on a fan page and not your personal profile.

Thanks for the response. I was having a bit of trouble trying to search Their Help Center for information.
