How to monetize a Twitter account with Affiliate Marketing?

Hello all,

I have a Twitter account with over 150K followers and an average of 45M impressions per month.

I have participated in affiliate marketing with some sporadic earnings. And also recently I was able to close some paid mentions.

The problem is that I can't make an income every month, and sometimes several months go by without any activity.

The main interests of my audience are music (especially rock and roll), photography, news and online business. And they come mainly from the USA but I also have audiences from the UK, Mexico and Latam.

Any comment, recommendation or help that can help me? I have tried many sites already but I am always open to hearing new opportunities.

Thanks all
Jay

There is no magic answer to what you should be doing, you
have to try different things. Locate affiliate offers related to
your follower's interests and keep pushing those until you find
something that sells, that's pretty much how you go about it.

It is possible that you have a group of followers who just won't
spend money. Your statement that they are interested in this,
that and the other makes it difficult to market to them. If that
is the case you might need to reassess everything that you
are doing and try something else.

  • In your case I'd try online training courses, lots of people looking for how to work from home , you could promote via Twitter with an incentive and take them to a landing page.

    Good luck

    Hi Jay,

I also have a large Twitter following & have experimented over the years promoting different affiliate products on occasion. Now I stick with promoting one company having links in my profile as well do 1-2 promo tweets a day. Most often I push the CBD/Hemp/Delta 8 products (additional product lines we have) targeting the business opportunity aspect (sometimes products only)... many of my followers I target are entrepreneurial & self improvement focused. It works for me so it should for you with the music & online business interests your followers have.

Trying to pitch people with multiple affiliate products can sometimes portray a lack of focus plus generally won't produce residual income (residual income should be your goal). I know someone who is producing thousands in monthly sales mostly mentioning Hemp CBD coffee (with Chaga) via social media plus I believe he does pay other influencers to promote - he is in the music niche but also posts political stuff (which has caused account suspensions).

I have more Twitter followers than you (most haven't logged in for years) but you have massively more impressions so it could work out well for you promoting the CBD/Hemp/Delta 8 niche.

  • It might also be helpful if you have more information on your followers, like age, sex, income, etc. That can also help narrow down what products you can push.

Apologies if this was clear and I missed it, but do you have any of your own products you could promote / sell to your following? If not, why not create something? Affiliate stuff imo can work at times if you're laser focused on a good niche, but I've seen (and have personally purchased) many more examples of folks promoting their own products (gumroad courses, etc) to their following (who presumably are there bc they're interested in the account holder's perspective on the topic in question.)
