When it comes to ranking your website, you need a solid strategy, velocity, and to get links from friendly neighborhoods, etc. I wanted no risk on my website. So here's how I used a Pinterest board to rank.

1. I created a board with the main keyword.

New York Plumbing

2. Then in the description I added my keyword twice and 2-3 Secondary Keywords.

New York Plumbing is a very Lucrative Business. Every Kid in New york aspires to be a new york plumber. New york plumbing business made 100 billions last year

3. I added 30 Pins.. Every Pin with Keywords and few texts..

Every pin had the phrase "New York Plumbing" followed by few words. Then I added few likes and repins to every pin (you can use many free bots available).. Once done..

4. Add comments randomly to the pins.. its not necessary to add it to every pin.. Also Make sure the comments have the keywords in them..

5. Now that you are ready with your board. Blast the board link and pin links with social bookmarks, wiki links, scrapebox comments and whatever you can think of.. Pinterest is a Super Authority Domain and its chances to get penalized is negligible..

And you rank!

PS: That's not the actual keyword I used. But I used same strategy for my client and he did get leads for his business. His keyword was high competition with 1000 Searches locally Pinboard was serving him as a mini-site to him. Pinterest has a trust value.

The method is easily scalable...

Awesome. I have heard great things about Pinterest but never did anything with it yet. I will now start trying to use it to drive traffic to my websites. Pinterest has been the latest buzz but seems like not many people are using it

  You won't gain any followers or see any huge increases in Pinterest traffic. But your rank on G will go way up, two months holding steady.

My internet is real crappy but I would like to see how it works out when we point 100 blog posts at it from my tier 2 network, so if you've setup a new pinterest account in the way you described above then I send over a blast for free just to see how it works out. It's a 5 minute job for me, so just curious.

I've been using Pinterest for a few weeks/a month and have been getting some followers and repins (not checked my traffic tbh) but this sounds like a good idea and much more targeted than what I've been doing... Think I'll try this out :-) can you name a good bot?

I don't use bots, no need to be honest with this method.. I've cleared $900/month with solely Pinterest traffic and Adsense once before and it's not for me, I only focus on larger business ventures.. Not sure what's on the market now, or what still works but I know there's a handful of them being sold right now.

Nope, but it's not worth it for traffic.. Remember no one will see your page, all were doing here is just pretty much ranking the page so we can rank our money sites with it.

No problem! You won't get traffic from Pinterest, you'll only get traffic from when you watch your keyword go right up the serps onto page one.

We have discovered a huge Pinterest's impact on Google SERP. In 6 months time only with Pinterest campaign our customer's site reached the top of Google for the"lingerie wholesale" query. We didn't use any black hat techniques. Just good strategy and hard work, and of course great photos - this is a must of any campaign on Pinterest. We documented all results on our blog. Pinterest links are no follow. But the actual Pinterest pages could rank well as it's a well respected site. Just don't look for any link juice or SEO value from the links.

Pinterest is very much relevant to SEO
I have ranked lot of my images on top positions in Google Images
Also my webpages have ranked at some sweet spots from only pinterest pinning and repinning

Yes, I've noticed that Pinterest pages are showing up on page 1 of Google for in many niches! I'm not sure if it will work for the IM niche but definitely for many different ones
