Go to account setting => security => Deactivate your account => select option and deactivate it. If you are not activate it in next 14 days your account will be deleted permanently.

Once you deactivate the account, do not login in next days, your account will permanently delete after that.

  • Artijain,

Note that you may receive emails prompting you do re-engage with the account. I wouldn’t even open these. I have heard people say that accounts have stayed open for longer when they opened emails from Facebook.

    Best,

    Shawn

Click Edit Page, then Edit Settings. At the bottom, you will find the Delete Page. I believe you will have to wait for 15 days before the page gets totally deleted.

This is right. Facebook gives you 15 days to change your mind. You have to deactivate it and then wait.

Do you know guys if all personal data about you is also deleted with the account? When I was using a local social website I deleted my acoount and then I had to write an email and ask for deleting all data about me. It will probably be mentioned somewhere in the help center, but I'm curious and have no time to search for it

definitely not... probably none of your personal data (which you authorized facebook to own when you signed up) will actually be deleted. only access to your "page" will be suspended so, on the surface, it will look like you don't have an account on facebook, but your personal data will definitely still be there and it's very unlikely you'll be able to actually have it all deleted.

One easy example is anything you posted on other people's "walls", or anyone who tagged you on some pictures on their profile, etc, that's all stuff of yours that FB openly says will not be deleted.

Most likely anything you ever declared about yourself when creating or updating your account will not be deleted. I think (from reading stuff around the web on fb privacy policy) that pretty much nothing of you will be deleted when you terminate your account. What you are deleting is just *your* access to facebook, not the ownership of facebook of the data you gave them...

      ciao!

Deactivate and wait for 15 days. Make a written request to facebook to delete your data if you are unsure.

once your account is deactivated for 15 days, then it will be automatically deleted but in these 15 days, you shouldn't login as if you login Face Book will think that you have changed your mind and you want to start suing Face book again.

Deactivate and forget the Facebook (atleast the Id you have deactivated). They will automatically delete the account.

@Saul Thanks for the info. So now it's quite funny that some people delete their accounts to "save" their privacy, when actually they don't save nothing except the time spent on browsing Fb

well a little bit of privacy *is* regained, because without an account people can't stalk you, can't post stuff on your wall, can't find you or contact you through fb etc.

It's more the "demographic" data that fb doesn't want to leave or allow users to delete: it's the data they sell to other companies and probably make most money from (marketing research data can be sold for a whole big bunch of money!), like age, sex, location, browsing habits, ads that were clicked, games that were played, posts that were liked... your "behind the curtains" profile is what facebook really likes to keep for themselves wether you want to use facebook any more or not ;-)

      ciao!

Just don't login within the 14 days or you will regain access and the account won't be deleted as you had originally asked.
