You still don't understand what a discussion forum is, do you?

I don't get it. There are so many threads closed that are only a few months old. Some not even two months old.

You do understand how discussion forums work, right? If so, then why are you so adamant on stifling discussions?

And don't tell me it's to fight spam. That's a lame excuse. Your mods should be able to do that just fine, and if they can't, add new ones.

Do you really think nobody else has anything useful to add after 6 weeks? Even after a year there might be new information that makes it worth opening the discussion again.

You know why places like Reddit got big boosts in Google's recent updates and this forum didn't? Because Reddit values user interactions.

I've been thinking the same thing... it seems like the majority of threads are DEAD before we even get a chance to contribute to them... and, the one's that are active are general discussions - moreover that of value posts with insightful contributors.

IDK. what happened???, -but I agree 110% the real value has decreased significantly and might explain WHY those like yourself and others who contribute a ton of value here has all but vanished from THIS forum!

Don't you know that posting a suggestion here is useless, it's kind of like
talking to the wind where nobody hears you and you're wasting your time.

I agree that too many threads are closed too soon for whatever reason,
and it does hinder discussion, which is what forums are supposedly for.

This forum is great for its content, especially the archives, but the current
state of it needs a serious overhaul and updating, in more ways than one.

But as the ancient proverb says, "The eye cannot see its own lashes."
