When I spotted this announcement earlier, I removed my last post which wasn't really on anything. However I'm not sure if the post I still have is related to the money making topic? (Can WordPress be included there?) Thanks Mark |

Chuck, Not if you can make golfing pay Just Kidding! I guess that makes your blog toast! - that was my initial thought when Allen posted this new rule. The new rule is most definetely not ammenable to those who are not bending the rules and just plying their trade to generate interest in their products. Sad but true. I wonder how many have signed up recently from reading just one members blog posts. (Just an aside, crawling back into my box now!) The opportunity for you to promote is still there, you just have to put a different swing, angle on your postings I think, but please don't shoot the messenger! Kindest regards, Janet |

Hmmm that is too bad. But I guess that I understand somewhat. This forum is only about making money then, or just the blog section?.

anecdotes are for the OT section, making money is for the real forum and the blog posting. Hope that helps! Never, ever, confuse yourself. Making money is "A" serious business. Anecdoatal! = amusing - means usually off topic (i.e. not making money!) What more can I add, well only this, if a blog mod doesn't appreciate what you have posted, your blog post will get deleted. Simple as that. However as the OP (original poster) of this question, or YOUR BLOG ENTRY, you are duty bound to decide, is this a blog post qualifier, or should this be posted into the "OT" section. Plain and simple, you decide, or the mods decide. Hope that makes some kind of sense. Kindest regards, Janet

What if you do things in IM not directly related to making money? I wanted to start a blog on here about what I do, (programming for fellow Warriors). I make scripts that apply to making money, (membership scripts, download protectors, etc.) but they are not 'making money' posts. Does this count? Thanks for any help. |

Can the blog be used for WSO follow-up information? Like when a person runs a WSO for a product or service and uses the blog to announce updates to the product, i.e. version 1 to version 2, etc. TIA, Jeffery 100% :-) |

Jeffery, I'm confused about your question, just wondering why would you post a wfblog to communicate with your wso buyers? A blog about an update to your moneymaking scheme might be acceptable. But, why blog about updates, it's your customers, you already have their email addy's and you have their direct contact details, so why not just mail them? Why do you need to communicate to the whole membership, using the WF blog? Or, have I missed something here? I'll leave it to Allen to confirm what is good or bad. |

Hi Janet, Because WSOs end and when the WSO Seller runs the same WSO at a future date the seller can inform buyers that there is a blog for the WSO. The idea is two-fold. 1. People will see the blog and comments from past buyers. Could improve sales once people see positive comments from other buyers. 2. When the blog is updated by the OP on a reasonable basis (depends on the product) it shows potential buyers that there is a history. After the WSO ends. You know how bad guys sometimes join the forum, create a WSO, and leave paying customers short on delivery, etc. If all WSO Sellers were required to have a blog as a pre-requirement to run a WSO it would give buyers a place to discuss it publicly. We all know it will end up in the main forum anyway. Just thoughts, Jeffery 100% :-) |

ok that brings one big question to my mind If you start a blog with articles (or spin off articles for that matter) with links pointing to your products about making money, is that what we are looking for here or just blog post with only info on making money such as seo etc?

Great rule Allen. To glorified777 This is an Internet Marketing forum and I guess this says it all. And can we expect a medical to write about "how to make money"? YES we can - check out Dr. Mani As I see it, some members are using the forum and its possibility to have a blog on a high pr site to sell non-related products. Maybe this helps you understand the rule. Dougi |

I am an avid reader of almost everything on this forum. Amazing useful and practical knowledge is gained in different ways by different people. I definitely am a newbie in many IM arenas and it is my considered opinion that most of the readers of WF are also -- pretty impossible to be "all knowing". When I first read the phrase "A bunch of ignorant newbie" I was immediately offended. After careful contemplation of my reaction, I came to the conclusion that it came from a general cultural definition of ignorant instead of the actual definition which is really lack of knowledge or training. So I soothed my ruffled feathers to admit to myself that the term "ignorant newbie" was at the worst redundant. Carol

the new rule is just keeping ot in ot columns or posts. u could always put something in the signature line ask me how i do in golf or ask me how to make chicken soup. this site is maily set up so that we all make money and if u have to go through a chicken soup receipe before getting to everything you need then a person might give up. i think its a great idea and to keep ot between warriors. or a forum where everyone cant talk about making money and only ot. this site is mainly about making money

There's already a ton of clutter on the internet. It would be great if we kept the blogs and most other WF posts on the "make money" and marketing topics with theory, practical advice, examples, case studies and suggestions. Reading through a 1300 word post that doesn't pertain to marketing is a waste of everyone's time. Looking over blogs about hobbies, health and other off-topic entries, makes it a little harder to get to the great "golden nuggets" I find sprinkled in the WF. Just my 2 cents worth!

Just one question ... "making money online" is a broad topic and could be targeted into thousands of tiny little aspects. Is there a more specific list of the blogging rules or guidelines to abide by? Or is that the only one? Ginny |

Ginny, I think your niche in the blog marketing / posting area would be how to make money online using .......... Background music - how it enhances the visitors mood - makes them buy ;-) The use of dramatic music - creates a sense of urgency - Need I go on? I agree, there are lots of topics to be covered and way to do it However the one and only main rule above "must be about making money" is the original blog rule "All blogs that are nothing but a "test" or an "Ad" will be deleted. So as long as it's not a blatant ad, just blog about how someone could use your product, service etc to make money. Actually you might find, it's a great selling tool for your services (but, please don't tell anyone I said that! ) Love your work by the way. Regards, Janet |
