Warrior Forum Design Changes

Hello everyone

We're in the process of tightening up the Warrior Forum design. If you have momentary issues with rendering, simply clear your cache and cookies and it should rectify. If it doesn't, hold tight because we are tweaking things!

Looks great so far Alaister!

Good job!

I look forward to seeing the things you have in store. :)

Did you guys give thought about the WSO and for sale sections?

Meaning ... tons and tons of WSO's designed to "blend in" - particularly the
back ground color.

You are going to have people scrambling ... anybody in the middle of a launch
is going to have a hear attack ...

Hi Ken,

Yeh this is a good point. We did think about people in the middle of product launches and tried to keep things as similar as possible. The background colors should still be the same. There was an error where it made the background white for a while. We have fixed that. It may take a few minutes to update.

I was just feeling bad for those that are.

Are there any other things that you can see that you think would impact people's launches?

Other then that social media button leaking paid traffic ... no

I know you can close the tab, but it doesn't stay closed.
- not sure if that is a bug or by design -
imho ... it should not be active at all in any section someone pays for.

It wouldn't leak traffic right? The fact that people can share WSOs and threads would mean more traffic. When you click those buttons, a pop up appears allowing you to share.

It’s very uncomfortable to read everyone’s comments with the new font. I miss the Verdana we had before.

I thought those were for the warrior forums personal fb - twitter etc.
- Maybe I should have clicked them at least once to find out. ;)

However sn't that option already in the "link back" controls?

If non members cannot see those controls then it makes perfect sense to me.
Other wise it is kinda redundant.

No worries.
Our thinking behind it was to make the social sharing buttons more visible so that more people would share.

Is it my imagination or have the borders disappeared or become very faint. I don't like it at all.
Some of the writing has shrunk so small, it is ridiculous too.

Yeah, I don't like 'flat' design, and it's too bloody bright.

I suppose we'll all get used to it, like the last big ios update, in a few days.

Although what I'd like to see even more is the removal of these "Copy & Paste your way to $1,000,000 per month in only 8 minutes per day" WSO's

Love the new design enhancements. Not drastic change, but looks more modern already. WF was starting to look very out-dated.

Who do you think shares WSOs with their friends on facebook? I mean, this isn't a general interest thing that most of one's friends would be interested in. It's not like a funny picture.

And I am inclined to say the same about regular threads.

The new design looks better imo, easy on the eyes and I think I also notice some site speed improvement.

Re: Warrior Forum Design Changes

Does it matter what anyone thinks? The majority didn't want any design change. I'd recommend checking the stats in a month and seeing if it's been a success or not. My bet, is if it remains the way it is now, the time on site and average page per visit will be lower. I don't dislike it... but numbers speak louder than opinions.

Got a bit of a shock when I first saw it and I'm finding the red very bright and glaring, but no doubt will get used to it. Noticed one thing - it no longer gives the month when people have joined - just the year, which is a pity. I usually check to see how long someone has been a member before buying a WSO.

I couldnt agree more about the register button.. and the other thing that I dislike intensely is the lack of distinction between threads I have read and those I have not read which both appear in blue and bold (very similar) when using the browser back button to return to the forum.

I hate having to click refresh every time just to see what to click on next. The 'old design' worked great and a return to that would be very welcome. Please improve how this looks/works now for easier navigation.

Yes I hated it to but I thought to try something and sure enough there it was! you can get the month and day by going to a members profile which would be a real pity if it also gets removed.

I also hate that there is no unique Icon for threads that you have replied to.

That's a pain in the azz. For member mods., we aren't being paid, so why should we have to spend endless time and energy going to a possible spammers profile? I certainly don't want to visit their profile.

I'd rather see the search function restored. That should have been fixed before doing the redesign, IMO.

Members rely on the join date - including month. The current redesign does not reflect what is important to the members of this forum. Again, just MOO.

I'll probably get accustomed to seeing things changed like changing the way dates are displayed:
3rd June 2014 instead of June 3, 2014.

Right now I'm just mildly annoyed at being forced to see things the way the rest of the world sees them.

I just saw them a short while ago. That's a really ugly change to the front page. I understand the goal, but not the implementation. If you want to highlight those sections, I'd rather see it done in a banner, somewhat like below. People will be able to find them just fine. Don't underestimate the intelligence of your visitors by assuming that if the graphic isn't on top of the section, they won't look for it.

Re: Warrior Forum Design Changes

Hello Alaister,

Sorry, but I have to express some concerns here, your new changes in regards to renaming the threads was fine, the forum design is pretty good as well overall. However, these new graphics you have on the main index look beyond tacky and out of place, if I were you I would start thinking about the users on here instead of how to highlight the sections that make you money.

You have not been on here that long and it just looks as if you're thinking (money) not (community) and that is going to sink this ship, respect the users that have been on here for many years including myself, lose the respect and you may end up with a forum only used by the wrong type of crowd.

Just my two cents, take it as you will!

I get the idea but my first impression of the new home page with the images is spam.

Like you're trying to hard to get attention. I do think having an image is OK but they are so over sized they are rude. lol

May I suggest a more discrete and subtle approach by trimming them down to a slimmer dimension? They are so big they look totally out of place and desperate!

It's also a paid forum which is a money maker forum, so they just want to move it to the spotlight. It doesn't affect how the forum functions, so that's really a minor point.

So are the "Warrior Book Club" and "High Voltage Video" forums.

I realize it doesn't affect the function, but they should be categorized accordingly.
