Self-development products and services will always be in-demand. After all, there’s not a single person on this planet who hasn’t felt the need for help and guidance in life.

As Rocky Balboa said,

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”

And yet, when life knocks us down, it’s completely natural to want help, and even NEED help getting back up. Because… we’re here to grow. We’re here to feel. We’re here to immerse ourselves in the curiosity of life, each other, and all that comes with being in a physical body… in this spiritual life experience.


When I was a little boy, I got pulled out of the 4th grade for health reasons. And I never went back. I grew up way outside of conventional living. I grew up raising myself. I started selling tropical fruit on a Maui roadside stand to feed my family at just 10 years old, when we became homeless.

That’s what makes me a very different copywriter;

I used connection and sales as my way of surviving… and ultimately… thriving. I was verbally writing copy and telling stories, because I wanted the people who stopped at my stand to FEEL what I was experiencing, so they’d buy as much fruit as possible. The stories I told were about the magical places I harvested the fruit deep in the Iao Valley Jungle.

But more importantly was my WHY. The tourists who drove passed the Iao Valley Lodge, going towards the Iao Needle, needed to hear WHY I was standing out there, rain or shine, selling the fruit. When I told them I was feeding my mom and myself with the money I raised, and was trying to save up for a house, so we could get out of the jungle hit almost everyone to their emotional core.

My stories resonated with them. And therefore, they cared enough to buy.

I took the exact storytelling formula I used to sell fruit as a little boy, and applied the same principles in my marketing campaigns - selling all sorts of self-development products. There are top controls in the self-development market, right now, using my story to connect with people… and sell their limitation-shattering-solutions.

However, whether it’s my story, your story, or the stories of people’s you’ve helped, the self-development market is all about inspiring people to go toe-to-toe with their own limiting beliefs and stories… and helping them see a new possibility. Then, there MUST be a mechanism to make whatever claims WE make… feel true to the end consumer. That means, your solutions has to actually work, and provide incredible results… for the people you want to help.

Are you ready to be vulnerable, and let people “see themselves” in your story? In the stories of people you’ve helped? And most importantly, does your product or service genuinely work so-bloody-well that we NEED to get it into people’s hands ASAP?
