Template problem

I had a mini-site template on my computer and uploaded all the files into my Hostgator C-panel file manager into the public_html.

Now I go to my site and the template exists but not the way it looked and in the dash of wordpress everything is the default mode.

What did I do wrong and what do I need to do to get it right?

    Rick,

    A mini site template won't work with WordPress.

    A mini site is a stand alone site.

    For it to work in WordPress, you would have to change it to a WordPress theme.

    A static website template will not work with Wordpress. Delete it and install the Wordpress script from within your Hostgator Cpanel. Now go and find a Wordpress theme to install. There are ,000s available both free and paid but these days make sure it is a "responsive"one ie suitable for display on smart phones & tablets.

    Also, there are lots of various plugins for seo, secirity, backups, social marketing etc that are available for Wordpress.
