Propagation and Posting on Separate Servers for the same site

I am working with a client who has Perl websites, with WP attached at the backend about two years ago, and there seems to be issues with the multiple servers in use. At present, one server is in Singapore with direct physical access. The other server is a virtual server in the US.

When articles are posted to WP backend installation on the Singapore site, they have to be manually added to the WP backend on the US server. Apparently they are manipulating the database and manually transferring the files using code, but each time the servers are restarted, the coding disappears.

No, I do not yet have the details and am waiting for more information from the server side people. However, I am curious if anyone here has a similar set up, and how they handle the initial content propagation to multiple servers for the same site.

Does WordPress have features that will handle this? Is there some Linux based open source server side program that will automate the synchronization of the two servers? Are there other solutions I have not considered?
