Need a basic database site that site visitors log into

Hello,

I'm in the process of having a site designed and I need a way to create a simple database that visitors log into once on the site. I would enter data in various fields (for users to find, perhaps loaded from a Google spreadsheet or similar) and it needs to update in real time in the database as new items are added/deleted. The idea is for visitors to select items sort of like ecommerce but buying digital items with a link to each in the listings. So you would visit the site and look at what's available for sale based on various search parameters. Awesome Table is sort of an easy to implement example of a similar design, but the search parameters and headers at top need to be customizable and also live where listings are added/removed to the database. Any thoughts on what to use and is there something easy that's inexpensive? Also visually appealing to consumers/business prospects would be ideal. Digital music catalogs are another example of what I have in mind. Ideally the data would require registration to access and not just be open on the web. Thinking simple and inexpensive if possible. Hope this makes some sense!

If you are having a site designed, isn't this a question
you would ask your website developer?

Whatever you are trying to achieve with this database
login strategy, you need to make things easy for your
site visitors, not more complicated than it needs to be.

Adding and deleting digital items in real time makes it
sound like things could be deleted while people are
    trying to purchase them.

Is that how it's going to be.

My web designer says he doesn't do that kind of thing and wanted me to ask someone more experienced with making searchable sites where digital files can be purchased and downloaded. A good analogy is digital music sites where tracks or albums are searched for (in various ways) and purchased directly. Any number of people can buy the same thing at once since it's digital. Sites that sell insurance policies are another decent example -- easily searchable and items purchased but not physical. Anyway, I will find a more suitable developer and show some examples and the purpose is obvious at that point. I was just hoping for something simple like those nicer spreadsheet offerings (Awesome Table -- just load the files/info. from a spreadsheet) but a bit nicer with more customization. Some of those aren't quite what I need for buyers to search.

I suggest you address this to ChatGPT.

It will be able to provide suggestions and it can even
write code, if that is something that you will need.
