Hi Riya,

There is no doubt that when it comes to presentations, graphics and attraction then Flash is better choice as its graphics are much clear and attractive but when it is concerned about SEO, Google tracking/listing then you need to go with HTML 5.
If you are concerned with normal comparison then both have some advantages and disadvantages different from the other one. I would suggest you to read a post at readwritewebdotcom 'Does HTML5 Really Beat Flash? The Surprising Results of New Tests'. I am sure you will find you answer.

There are cases in which you need to have a flash or a video for your website.. there is no second way out in such cases.. wedding websites for example.. And for such cases you an option of ROR sitemap..

flash is something and html5 is totally different

flash can build very powerful websites without even using html/css/php 1 line code

that because flash designing have its own programming languages (ActionScript)

but html5 is just new generation of markup languages gives you more tools/power/time saving to design same web pages in the paste but with more features

Flash is nicer for the eyes, but not for many browsers and not for SEO, but it depends if your customers come from offline sources Flash is good, if you are trying to optimize things SEO, html5 is your option, not as nice as flash but it belongs is more standard.

Hands down without a doubt HTML 5. Flash is absolutely nowhere near HTML 5. Also google can't read it as mentioned above which is a sole reason in itself why not to use flash.

For a website, certainly HTML5, however if you're talking videos, Flash still has a hand.

My company uses a lot of long videos and we use flash where possible because they are a lot smaller than the HTML5 mp4. The flash vids load faster and don't have buffering issues. On Apple devices the vids must fully load to begin playing, and that can cause confusion to customers who think the video is broken--no, it just hasn't loaded yet...

Our solution is to use a player that detects the device type and then serves the right one, Flash for computers and HTML5 for idevices.

For better SEO prospects HTML5 is very much recommended. but if you care only about looks and innovation flash will come handy. Flash has numerous facilities and innovative functionality to make the animations really good. Also we cannot just write off flash sites, i think there are sites built completely on flash and does really well in SEO (sites of famous Brands).

You better ask yourself who is your target client. Apple doesn't like flash. Flash won't work on iphone, ipad and... So, if you are targeting those users, you better consider HTML5. Flash consumes a lot of CPU power (based on your graphic or animation), which consumes battery.

They do some test on it but it weren't scientific completely, they just did find that HTML5 clearly performed than Flash in Safari on a Mac but the differences were less clear cut in Google Chrome or Firefox.
