Inventory Problems
Anyone have any experience with Open Cart? I've been building my site for about a year now and my biggest problem is inventory. I have 5 wholesalers that drop ship for me, and I keep a lot of product on hand and sell locally as well. I keep getting orders for products that are on back-order because my site says they're in stock.
What I've been doing is making csv files because none of my suppliers have their own, one for each brand or product type, and using the quantities displayed on my supplier's websites. Or if it just says "In Stock" I'll put it as 10 available.
There's no way that I can continually monitor everything and tell customers that although it says In Stock, it isn't really.
I had a guy on oDesk make most of the files, I just categorize them. I was thinking about having him look over a brand or two a day and re-upload them, but that seems like a lot of unnecessary work.
Any ideas?
