Hello Warrior Forum! My name is Ronnie, and I'm here today to introduce myself and LinkedIn Ads. LinkedIn is a social networking site with a Global Alexa Rank of 17, and a US Alexa Rank of 12. Membership exceeds One Hundred Million active users; who are looking for more than just entertainment. LinkedIn now has a self service PPC advertising platform with targeting options unlike anything you've seen before.People click on your ads and visit your website. You specify which LinkedIn members view your ads by selecting a target audience: by job title, job function, industry, geography, age, gender, company name, company size, or LinkedIn Group. Control your advertising costs by setting a budget and only pay for the clicks or impressions that you receive. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. |

Very cool to see you here. I am actually running a campaign using the platform. Four of my adcopies are still running strong, down of course from 100 copies at the start.

Yes, I did switch them to PPI, and it made my cost per click drop nicely :-)

Thanks for the questions everyone. First of all, there is no 'minimum deposit'. Like adwords, there is a $5 activation charge; but after that you do not need to carry a balance, your payment method on file will be billed periodically for your advertising costs. Usually daily or weekly depending on volume. You can set a daily budget to control your spending. Yes there are promotional coupon codes, however I am not equipped to provide the WF with these unique codes. As far as what's new? More Targeting, More Options. The new targeting capabilities at LinkedIn Ads is unlike anything you will find elsewhere. |

LinkedIn is not exactly affiliate friendly, but when you use your head- most affiliates can definitely use this platform very much to their advantage.

okay so today I have made my first ad with linkedin but it got rejected 2 times in a row.. the reason:- URL brings up a log in page; when selecting an advertisement, members would need to not be brought to a log in page. I have tried to run an offer for mynextdegree and I'm not sure if someone gonna promote there on linkedin and if they can't even ask for opt-ins then how they gonna make profits??? I'm really pissed off and afraid that every landing page will require signup and they will reject every ad of mine.. Can you help me to get rid of this? |

Try landing pages then. Bridging to several offers. We'll see if LinkedIn would accept such.

Hi, What does LinkedIn mean by "LOG IN" page? OPT-IN = FORM SUBMISSION = LOG IN ? |

So you mean that now affiliates can not send traffic to offers directly even for split testing? I used bit.ly link to redirect/track traffic stats and they disapproved.. is it bcz I used bit.ly? I have posted a support ticket long back and their support staff seems very lazy and no response yet. @ azmanar you are correct it was a 2 field form submission offer page and I was sending traffic to this offer directly via bit.ly link. @ OP so how to get rid of this situation? I asked you but you never replied me. Also I have no idea how you are supporting imback's post even I have saw plenty of ads on linkedin which redirects to direct offers instead of landing pages. You want me to post those here?

@ OP IT Connection Subscription this is the one but I found lots of such ads there. You can see this ad takes to signup page then why the hell they are allowed and not me? also you did not clarified if bit.ly is a problem or I have to have a landing page.. |

Well guys, before you scream "Eureka" and jump in, there are a few things you Should know with this network LinkedIn is NOT Facebook or Myspace, There is no boring teens who post stupid status update. LinkedIn is a professional network so you CAN'T apply all the techniques with Facebook to this one. And one more thing: Linkedin can be VERY costly IF you are not sure what you are doing. Trust me, been there, done that. Long story short: it is a good network, just not the one you are looking for If you only familiar with things like FB and POF |

I've never made that traffic work, the cost per click is astronomical compared to other social sites we buy on. You have to remember that linkedin users are professionals, its not facebook. I would suggest noobs stay away from this platform until they are well versed in targeting. I'm sure I could find some cj.com style offers to convert on there and maybe if you have your own service oriented offer, but typical offers are not going to do well there. Maybe Ronnie can post some niches he's seeing advertisers do really well with. Seems more of a branding tool than direct response. |

I have a hard enough time trying to connect to PEOPLE I ACTUALLY KNOW on LinkedIn, no way in the world I'm going to waste time trying to set up a campaign and spend money on the place unless others I trust start making headway ... and by headway, I mean money (of course, if I paid their fee I'm sure all my connection problems would magically be taken care of.)

This is interesting. I will be looking into this for some of my corporate SEO clients, the targeting could prospectively serve as extremely advantageous for most of the highly business oriented stuff.

I was taking a look on your guidelines and noticed that you don't allow several types of sites/offers. I think that most of them wouldn't be a problem for most marketers, except by 2: * Dating sites * Ringtones Are there exceptions or it's not allowed to promote any type of offer in these niches? Also, I noticed that you have some info about offers in the bizopp niche, but it wasn't clear for me if you allow free trials in this vertical or not, so I'd like to check if you. William

In case the LinkedIn employee on here is still reading this thread; maybe you can help me answer a question the answer to which I've been unable to locate in your help centre. In the csv report you report on "CTR" and "Total CTR". What's the difference for these? I can guess it might have something to do with repeat impressions; but I don't know this for a fact. It's rather confusing as I always forget which metric I'm using for my dashboards and there's a risk of data inconsistencies here. Another issue that you might want to report to your technical guys: I'd really like to see the CTR numbers in the CSV extract as a number; so 0.01 instead of 1%. Right now the report will tell me 1 where it means 1%, but I always have to manually create a column in which i divide everything by 100 to get to percentages in excel. If you could just give me the numeric value in the extract that'd be great. Thanks LinkedIn. |
