First $100 day with Adsense!

I've had lots of $100+ days since this post with Adsense.
I also had a crazy $1440 day with a product from cj.com
I came within $700 of hitting $10,000 in December 2011.

I’ve came a long way in the last year…in July 2010 I made $14 from my efforts online.

Last month in August 2011 I had a new baby on the 5th, took a solid 10 days off without touching my sites then worked about 15 hours per week the rest of the month….I made $5,885 last month from Adsense, Amazon and CJ.com.

I really got started last August and you can read about my “big” $930 month last November here. $930 in Amazon affiliate income in Nov. after starting 4 months ago, here is what I’ve done…



I finally hit $100 in adsense yesterday! (Plus $20 from cj.com & $90 from Amazon). It was $99.91 to be exact, but close enough for me. This is from about 15 or so sites. As you can see in the screen shot that most came from 5-6 sites.

I’ve had lots of $50-$80 days, but yesterday several of my sites had a good day and it added up.

These are evergreen niche sites. They range from at least 6 posts/articles to around 30.
I also only use free traffic to all my sites.

The biggest earning site ($26) is for something the users can download for free that I made in photoshop and other programs. I also link out to other sites that have made these items for my visitors to download. This site ranks #1 for several keywords and the cpc from google keyword tool ranges from $0.38-$0.80

Three to four of these sites I rank #1 for the main keyword and the rest are all on page one for their main keyword. The site that made $15.31 yesterday is in spot 10 on page one for the main keyword…but like most of the sites well over 50% of the traffic comes from longtail keywords.

How do I backlink these sites? I don’t do much, I have text broker write most of the articles for the sites and have them write a few for the article directories. I usually send a few social bookmarking links to some of the posts (20-50ish), I usually have lexorsoft.net do a package of 30 forum profile type links to the sites, some I make a squidoo/hubpage for and I will do a few manual blog comments.

I pick keywords that are easy to rank for, some of my sites have shot to page one and stayed there with zero backlinks! In fact three have hit page one with zero backlinks and the default hello world post only…Google liked the domain name and the title tags (these three sites don’t make much $ though). I just try to pick the right keywords with little competition.

Some are exact match domains, but some aren’t and honestly the exact match domain name doesn’t matter to me anymore.

Over the last year I’ve researched a ton of sites that I would come across when doing keyword research or when I browse flippa. I’d study how they’re making money, how they’re getting their traffic and I tracked some of them for several months and I’ve concluded that I want to focus on quality sites with helpful information for the visitors on my sites. I’m focusing on long term sites and keywords. I’ve seen a lot of other sites with crappy content and super spammy backlinks rank high and then get kicked out of the top ten by Google at some point.

//Some tips

Shoot for keywords that get at least 3,000+ exact searches or more per month. A lot of people say 1,000 or more but sometimes that’s not much traffic from what I’ve found even in spot #1. **Update: Someone mentioned below that if you have the right keywords (buying keywords) 1,000 per month is fine...I think this is true...so it depends on you keywords.

Even if the cpc is $0.35 and you can rank your site in the top few spots and there is traffic you’ll make money….just look at my $26/day site.

If your ctr is low, change the theme and ad placement. I just did this to a site that was getting below 1% ctr…now it’s hitting much higher.

Just because a keyword has high cpc doesn’t mean you’ll get it. I have a gadget site that gets 1,000+ page views per day and averages 3 ad clicks per day and I’ve tried about 4 themes that work well in other niches. Think about who will be clicking around on your site, do you want a tech savvy dude like me or your grandma and her friends clicking on your site?

I have a totally different mindset now than I did one year ago. I used to think $10,000 per month was impossible for me to make from internet marketing…now I know it’s not only possible but it will happen within the next year.

I’ll post again when I hit $10,000 per month. (It will be with the same techniques, just more time, sites and content)

Excellent! i know how it feels to crack that $100 a day mark in google adsense. But here's a tip: if you can or are able to open another adsense account in one of your family members names to add more sites to it.

The reason why i say this, don't keep all your eggs in one basket, if you have one account and then suddenly google decides they don't want you know more " your one income can dissapear"

But by spreading your earnings via multiple accounts not to be shady, just to split your earnings in google adsense gives you more security agaisnt a sudden ban.

Although my own accounts are actually built in my own company names.

Ohter then that, just keep creating those sites you are doing, your next target should be the $250 a day mark.

I do disagree with you on search volume though. You can have a low search volume and rake in great sales if it is a buying keyword and you offer up what the searcher is looking for. I have a number of keywords, that get just a few searches but the searchers buy.

I just setup an LLC a couple weeks ago and I'm getting ready to create another adsense account under the llc with different sites to do exactly what you've mentioned.

I'm kind of expecting to get banned at some point...not because I'm doing anything wrong on purpose, but it could happen because of something out of my control.

Because google is so unpredictable it's the only way to make sure you have a viable income monthly without the risk or worry of google bringing down your business/income for literally no reason.

I totally agree with what you said above. The biggest hurdle in making money online finding your way through the maze and making that first $20 bill. After that, you can make money as you please.

That is awesome, congrats! Feels great to pass that $100 per day mark, doesn't it? I've done pretty decent with adsense in the past, but lately I've let myself get distracted with all the "shiny new objects" I see in the WSO section lol. Consequently, a lot of my sites have gone down in the rankings and my adsense income has suffered.

It's a good lesson though. Like all the successful ones say on here - stick with what works, then rinse and repeat! Thanks for sharing your story, it's inspired me to get going again on my own sites and get them earning like they were before. Hope your success continues, and keep us posted! -Jon

I have only recently found out how true this statement really is. Last month I coincidentally made ~$20 and this month I've already made over $50 ever since I made 3 more niche sites in August. And I've been experiencing >$5.00 days recently and I'm at the mentality that anything is possible with internet marketing.

Congrats man. My top tip for you now is to protect your Adsense account. Make sure you're 100 percent compliant with the rules.

I've had a client hit his first major milestone but got canned by Adsense the next month due to a DMCA claim on one of his articles.

I know this was back in September, but it's awesome either way. I'm sure you've surpassed the $100 per day mark on Adsense legitimately, too. I've came pretty close (around $70 or so), but still have yet to eclipse that $100 a day.

With that said, I'm having my best month with Adsense so far and will be hitting a new record high. Of course, things will be interesting after the holidays, but with the new sites I'm putting up, I only see things moving up from here.

Congrats again on the success. Hard work eventually pays off, so thank you for making an example to show others that success takes work. Some people forget about the "hard work" part.

very inspiring story indeed, I currently make around $15 a day. I have around 15 websites, but only 2 websites are ranking on the 1st page and are making money.

Just a question though, are all your websites EMD?? Also what kind of methods did you use to rank these websites on the 1st page??
