How I Write Home Business Blog Posts
There are a variety of blogging platforms and writing styles and I know everyone has different preferences. Here, in a nutshell, is how I write home business blog posts for my website.
The first step with blogs, as with any kind of content an Internet Marketer may write, is to do some thoughtful keyword research. I want to optimize my posts to make it easier for my targeted prospects to find the topics they are interested in.
Once I have the perfect keyword phrase for the post, I start by crafting a title using the phrase. Some people decide their post titles during or after they write the post, but I find that if I can come up with the title first, it helps to set the tone and direction of the post.
When writing my home business blog posts, I try to use the keywords in my opening paragraph, once somewhere in the middle of the post, and again in my closing paragraph. If it is a short post, I might only use the phrase in the opening and closing paragraphs.
The format of most of my posts includes an opening paragraph or two that clearly states what the focus of the post will be. I then support the opening with several paragraphs that provide the meat of the topic, for example, the how-to of the topic, or examples explaining how the topic works, or informative or insightful references or details that help the reader know how to apply the topic to their own purposes.
I try my best to offer good, solid information that the reader will find interesting, helpful, perhaps inspirational in some way. I want each post to be more than fluff, more than just an excuse to use keywords for the benefit of search engine optimization.
I will typically end each post with a closing paragraph or two that highlights the key points and encourages the reader to use this new knowledge, or seek more info on the topic to further advance their education.
Then, I will log in to my Wordpress site editor and format and publish the blog entry. How I format my blogs in WP could be a topic for another post here in the Warrior Forum blog section!
That is how I write my home business blog posts. Some Internet Marketers keep theirs much simpler, while others are more detailed and elaborate. It’s all up to you!
