Facebook Page Creation
Are you using Facebook pages to market your business, your products or your services? If this is new to you, as it is recently new to me, here are a few tips for Facebook Page creation.
After holding out for all these years, I finally listened to my marketing friends and mentors and joined the popular Social Media site a few weeks ago. The very first thing I did (after setting up my basic profile, of course) was create my first Page to promote my website of the same name.
Here, in a simplified version, is how to do it:
1) Join Facebook, or log on to the site if you are already a member.
2) Set up (or review) your basic Facebook account details, read through the guides and adjust your privacy settings.
3) Scroll to the bottom of your main page to find a link that says “Create a Page” and click it.
4) Choose the kind of page you want to create (e.g. the “Company, Organization or Institution” kind of page).
5) Click the page style you want, choose a category, give your page a name and click the Get Started button.
6) Upload a profile photo, enter a description of your page, making sure to include your website URL in the proper field, and choose your FB Web address. Personally, I found out too late that once you choose your Web address, it cannot be changed. Choose it carefully before you proceed.
7) Next, click the “Like” button for your page and you will then be given the option to invite friends and set up email contacts. Make your choices, or click the “skip” button.
8) On your new page, find the “Edit Page” tab and click the “Update Info” link. Add any information that you want and then click to save it.
9) Your page is now ready go – start promoting it on your other Social Marketing sites, Internet Marketing forums and other places where your targeted prospects hang out.
