OK, today we are talking about Building a list with squeeze pages. First off – if you are involved with marketing, you need to be building a list. I don’t care if you are strictly an affiliate or if you create information products… Your website or blog is not your business. Your product is not your business. Your list is your business. Very few things in marketing – especially Internet marketing are as important as your list. The only one that might come close is the relationships you build with other affiliates in your niches. I don’t care who you are – if you want to shortcut your path to success you need to be building a list.

One of the ways to do that is by using Squeeze Pages. Most of us know what a squeeze page is, but for those who don’t it’s just a small, simple, webpage that offers something that you have or know - in exchange for usually the person’s email or email and name. And just a hint, for some reason if you ask for just their email, your opt-ins will usually go up.

To reiterate, people will come to this webpage… There are no other options except for them to give you their email address or leave your webpage. You are NOT trying to sell them anything. The only goal of your squeeze page is to get their email address.

When they give you their email address, it will be added to your autoresponder. I’m sorry, I don’t have time to talk about the details of an autoresponder today but I fully plan to create a video on them soon. Just know for now your autoresponder is a database that holds all of these collected email addressed and lets you interact with them on an ongoing basis.

So I said they are small and simple, but what is included on them? What do you give away?

Glad you asked! I’ve seen Squeeze pages (that have worked well) that were as short as a headline and the Opt-In box. And I’ve seen Squeeze pages that were as long as a full sales letter, probably 10 pages long.

My favorite style of a squeeze page contains these 3 parts – the Headline – The Opt-In box – And an embedded video that is about 30 seconds long. And maybe some arrows pointing to the opt-in box…

Now I’m going to talk about what you put in the video in just a second, but first what are you offering in exchange for their email address? The majority of people will offer a Free Report, Or a PLR product… And let me tell you this. Let me tell you this… If you offer a PLR on your squeeze page, at least go through the effort to make it into something unique. Recreate it into something at least somewhat valuable. If you give away junk on your squeeze page, you are not starting on a good foot with your list.

But my favorite thing to give away on a squeeze page is a “Secret”. You could spend the time you would have spent on a PLR - and just brainstorm a unique angle and hook that your target audience actually wants.
Unless you are a great copywriter, it's hard to beat giving away a "FREE Video that reveals the #1 Secret to <blank> that will increase the amount of <blank> in only <blank> days - Guaranteed!"
But it has to be something unique and interesting. And! 1 more thing – It has to be something unique and interesting! Got it?

Think about it like this… Imagine this… Within your niche, all of the possible things you could teach someone were 1 nail each on an entire bed made of nails. See people can lie down on a bed of nails. But your Secret has to be like if 1 nail was twice as long as all the other nails! You don’t need to overcomplicate your squeeze page and offer a bunch of stuff. You need 1 thing that the person will really feel. Just they will feel it emotionally and not physically. They have to want to know what you can tell them!

OK, back to what you need in your video. You need 4 things. Tell them Who you are, what you have, why they need it, and how can they can get it.

Squeeze pages are great for building your list… Your list and the relationship you build with these people will be so powerful for years. Your list is how you will create real passive income. You don’t create passive income by purchasing 1 software product pushing a button. That’s crap. It’s by building a list.
