Warriors,

I'm currently in discussions with a designer from Thailand - He has some really nice t-shirt designs and I'm looking at importing these to UK to sell. Only problem is that the shipping cost from Thailand to UK (as well as UK VAT/Customs) will eat all the margins.

Do you guys know of any cheap and fast(ish) shipping services from Thailand to UK?
Or, Do any of you guys have any experience in licensing/buying t-shirt designs?

That way I can get the t-shirts produced more cost effectively closer to UK.

Any advice/feedback is much appreciated...

I've never imported from Thailand before but I when I was importing from China to the US I contacted multiple customers brokers before I placed an order to secure the best pricing.

They can typically handle the paperwork for you and get you the best shipping rates.

My advice would be to ask the Thai supplier if they currently export to the UK and see if they can recommend a customers broker. If other people in the UK are importing their products both the importer and exporter (your source) would have the brokers info.

    Good Luck!
    Anton

      Hi

I live in Thailand and my wife who runs an online shop on one of my sites regularly ships items to the UK and around the world. The UK can sometimes be a little tricky, they have this hit & miss import system whereby for 6 months they check nothing and therefore no import charges then randomly for a month they charge duty on everything!.

If you post using Thailand Post Economy Airmail, posting parcels of no more than 2 kilos at a time to different family member addresses i am sure you will not have any problems.

      Regards
      Kevin

Thanks Kevin, the package is about 4kg so I'll see if they can split the package up - Been quoted £68.00 for collection from Thailand and delivery to UK.

Hum!....if you ship it as a single parcel at 3.99kgs max it costs 1,640thb (36.50gbp) to deliver to UK using SAL(Thailand Post Economy Airmail) via the local Thai Post Office.

If you split into 2x parcels each at 1.99kgs max then the cost per parcel is 1,080thb(24gbp) per parcel.

          Regards
          Kevin
