Mailchimp good, bad or ugly?

Mailchimp is very picky and hates IM mailing lists. Just use the search function here and you'll find out all you need to know on the subject

Free autoresponders can cause all sorts of problems further down the line. This is one thing you don't want to do on the cheap.

Best just to go with aweber as this is what the vast majority of people here will tell you.

They tend to be dreadful. Their unreliability isn't even their biggest drawback, by any means. One of them is so dreadful that it offends me even as a subscriber to others' lists and I'll no longer join (not even under a "spare email address") the lists of marketers who use it.

Disappointingly spammy emails from people whose lists I've voluntarily subscribed to are bad enough: I won't tolerate spam sent behind their backs to their subscribers by their autoresponder company. I'm not joking about this: in my opinion it's a really serious issue of the kind which - in the long run - can only ever have bad collective outcomes for all of us, whether we're personally involved in it or not.

When an autoresponder company does that, to me it's clearly just the sending out of bulk, unsolicited, promotional email. And that's the definition of "spam", isn't it? It's just inexcusable, in my opinion.

Also in my opinion, it's because of exactly this sort of behavior that regulators gradually grow bigger and more numerous and stronger and their teeth are more effective. And ironically, the people who complain about that are typically the very ones causing the problems to which "increased regulation" is the understandable and necessary response. If they're not part of the solution, they're part of the problem.

MailChimp - great support, good service, amazing integration - but they don't work with internet marketers.

Go with either aweber or getresponse. Both products/services are great.

In my opinion, you get what you pay for .....(most of the times)...but talking about autoresponders, this is 100% true.

You are extremely limited with MailChimp and it's practically impossible to send a broadcast containing an affiliate link.

They say the reason they do this is because they want to keep their service as spam-free as possible so you are able to send a broadcast to a review page, that contains affiliate links.

But sometimes, even that can be a problem.

Save yourself some time, efforts and headaches and go straight to Aweber or GetResponse.

Although Mailchimp is not a good option for anyone involved in Internet Marketing, it is still a very useful tool for your offline clients if you are into Offline Marketing.

I run most of my offline clients off Mailchimp because their services are not IM related. It's free to start off with and it's easy for them to use after I have set it up for them.

But for my personal business stuff I use Aweber at the moment.

Mailchimp is good if you are not in Internet Marketing Niche.
It's free up to 2,000 subscribers and the interface is beautiful.

But if you are in IM/ affiliate marketing niche, you can't use mailchimp. Your account will be banned after you send your offer.

They do not allow businesses that offer these types of services, products, or content: Affiliate marketers, Work from home, Internet Lead-gen, Make money on online opportunities, etc.

I'm sure its OK, but I've always used Aweber......

I disliked it immensely, and the whole no affiliate link deal makes it pretty much useless for my marketing efforts. GetResponse is the autoresponder of choice for me these days, recently switched over from Aweber and have been very happy with the results.

Mail Chimp is excellent in every respect - the one catch is that they don't allow lists from internet markers. They also just upped their free account usage from 500 to 2000 subscribers.

In simple word, it's 'UGLY". But that is my thinking. I dislike free autoresponders.

mailchimp gives you free account, but monitors very strictly.

Some of my friends have had their accounts shut down and LOST their ENTIRE lists due to not being aware of their Terms of Service.

Note: It pays to READ the small print before relying on a service for the most important asset of our online business.

Bad and Ugly!

I love Mailchimp but I also only send to my own buyers and it is an SEO service. They don't like affiliate or Im related stuff though.

Use aweber why even think of compromising you want them delivering and the platform they offer is so much easier to use for the newbies!

after several problems i do not trust aweber at all.

Poor me, hope I find this topic sooner 2 days ago I got the problem with newsletter announce our new affiliate program. Stupid MailChimp banned my account and no reply until now. They have a long article explain about affiliate marketing and affiliate marketer but I can't understand what they want to mean. I don't think release a new program is spam. And can't believe that they don't respond any email.So angry now.

I heard people lost their accounts with a few thousands valuable customers' emails ! Also they say Big NO to Affiliate Marketers ! Wow ! May be Mailchimp is a good solution for sweetmeat and packaging companies
