I found some truly great ideas on that particular page - just from clicking one entry on that blog. The site is INTERESTING and links to many other interesting sites.

For one thing - the content sharing or curation or conglomerate - or whatever you want to call it....features unique ideas on that site and link to unique sites and tutorials.

Honestly, I'm not at all impressed by their 12 million likes. But what I am impressed by is their 8 million "Talking About Us". People are liking, sharing and commenting on their content -- not a huge percentage of people per post; but still quite a few people on each post, and because they post so much it adds up.

I've noticed some other pages like this that have gone the post tons and tons per day route in the era of lower Facebook organic organic reach. Think about it this way: with FB reducing the amount of organic reach, people are less likely to find your posts spammy because even if you post quite a bit, they'll likely only see a few of those posts anyway. The challenge is (a) finding that much high quality content and (b) monetizing your traffic.

All that said, this strategy seems a lot like trying to game Google and I don't think it'll work in the long run. I image that eventually (if not sooner) FB will tweak their EdgeRank algorithm to put an end to this practice. But who can say for certain when it'll happen or if it even will?

For our part, we don't have the capacity to post this many times a day. Moreover, it's not what our users expect or want. Our strategy has always been to rely upon the quality of our posts, not the quantity of them. Our model is definitely something we need to tweak as FB makes its own changes, but I'm hesitant to abandon it completely in favor of a technique that seems (to me) destined to be short-lived.

In the meantime, I'll certainly have my eyes on these guys!
