Hi Amit, here are a few tips:

1- Blog because you love to blog and not for money. But yes you can 'monetize' your blog and make lots of money but not unless you are loving what you are doing.

2- Blog about your favorite topic or passion. When you are passionate about what you're doing, it will feel effortless and you will go a lot further a lot faster.

3- Make sure to 'promote' your content. This is something I failed to do when I started blogging. Don't make the same mistake. If no one sees your stuff, your efforts will be fruitless.

4- Give value in your content.

5- Write like how you speak.

Don't try to be someone else. Be you and you will 'attract' people just like you who will love your content.

This is one of the biggest pieces of advice I believe. A lot of people post their content then expect people to just somehow find it. You still need to get your content in front of the masses.

      A couple ideas:

      • Post your blog post on Facebook
      • Post your blog post on Twitter
      • Turn your post into a slide deck and post it on Slideshare and other Powerpoint/Slides sharing sites
      • Create an outline or synopsis of your post and turn it into a PDF and share it on PDF sharing sites.

Make sure you have a link back to your site when you are posting your post in other places.

Another thing to do that's becoming really popular is do create a content upgrade for each one of your posts.

You essentially create an opt-in bride or lead magnet for each of your posts and offer it in the middle or at the end of the post.

      • This could be a PDF version of your posts that your visitors can save.
      • It could be a bonus gift that goes along with your post.
      • You can offer a checklist or spreadsheet based on your post.

The key is to get creative an offer something that will make your visitors want to download it.

Just creating a blog post and doing nothing else is not enough any more.

Blogs or static sites can rank just as well if they have high quality, valuable content that benefits the site visitor. A static site can be updated just as often (assuming you are using an on page site editor and don't have to download files for editing). However, blogging is a very easy way to update content, add new articles on a daily basis. And, many readers love the blog format. As for how to blog well, always create content that helps your readers in some way, answers their questions. Don't just post to have more content on your site.

Remain passionate and honest in the content you write. Ensure that if you are citing other sources that you provide proper credit and don't be SPAMMY in your content. If your readers like your comment, they will click on the links you have available, just don't over do it.

Also don't stuff keywords just to try and get SEO value in the articles. Make proper use of primary keyword rules and LSI keywords per Google's playbook and you will be fine.

In my experience, it's always most important to create content (be it videos, blog posts, infographics, etc.) for your readers - not search engines. If you give your readers something valuable, they'll share it naturally.

It's also important to be consistent. Don't just create content for the sake of creating content, but make an effort to post quality content often.

    • Here are some of my recommendations:

      1. Regularly write about popular / controversial news stories, trending Youtube videos and viral social content that's relevant to your niche expertise. More importantly -- Don't forget to share your opinions and insights about these things. Also -- Keep in mind to share your relevant real life experience that your target readers could most likely relate to or benefit from or be entertained and educated with; and

      2. Regularly participate in related discussions on other laterally relevant blogs, Web forums, social networks and so on that are heavily trafficked by your target readers, especially on authority sites / blogs that have top ranking pages for relevant niche keywords. No, the point is not to drop backlinks -- Your main objective should be to establish a good and friendly reputation in those places as a helpful niche expert. Why?

      • This could most likely lead to guest posting and content syndication and affiliate or ad placement or solo email ad deals and strategic business partnerships with the owners of those online places and others who participate in those discussions. Why?

      • They'd probably be more receptive when you contact them and discuss your mutually beneficial partnership ideas...

        Hey amits,
I know one important issue in Blogging that everyone should address is setting up a regular time that you Blog.

Whether that be once a day or once a month, go ahead and plan exactly when you are to post a new Blog article.

This does a couple of things.

        1. It lets your Readers get familiar when to check in and be expecting new content from oyu.
        2. It also gets the Spiders regularly crawling your Content.
        3. It prepares you and allows you to adopt a certain Mindset when you know it's time to Blog.

    1. Read. Read. Read. The more you read the better your vocabulary, story-telling skills, and creativity.

    2. Stay Consistent. Making a blog post here and there is not gonna cut it especially if you don't even have a following yet.

    3. Write about what you know and have experienced. People can see through general advice and theory. People want to hear about real life experience that they can relate to.

I'll add what to me is the most important one: Viral marketing.

Now, more than ever, it's important to think beyond merely optimizing your posts for search engines or making them juicy pieces of link-bait. Harness their potential to spread virally.

Edit: I'd also recommend that most bloggers (indeed, most internet marketers) read a primer - at the very least - on grammar.

Write new content every single day.

If you are just starting out with blogging, just know that this could be a long term strategy. In the meantime, look at paid advertising so that you do get the ball rolling and making money right away.

Just write with your heart out, man.

It all boils down to what you want to accomplish in blogging. Are you in it for money? Or are you the type who just wants to express your thoughts in an open platform? Are you gunning to be a fashion blogger or a Sports authority guy in your area? It really depends on your priorities.

All I can tell you is just pour your heart out every time you write. Make sure your content is top notch. Eventually, whatever your priorities or goals are, as long as your content is great, you'll do fine.

I would say be honest with your readers, if you lie you'll lose your credibility.

Don't be afraid to really share your views on something. If you open up, I think your audience will do the same.

Always provide them with good valuable content that will help them. Get into the mind of your visitors and ask yourself what they would really want to read about.

Be consistent in the quality you deliver and when you deliver it, whether that be daily, weekly etc.

There's a lot of not-so-good advice so as someone who runs several blogs let me clear a few things up.

Follow your passions, blog for fun instead of money
Sure, go ahead and do this. Just don't expect any financial return out of it. If you want to blog for business you better be sure that there is an audience ready to spend money on whatever you're offering.

"Follow your passion and money will fall into place" is horrible advice and costed me two years of time until I figured out that if I want to make real money you have to look at it from a business standpoint.

    Write every day
If you spend all your time writing than you have no time for promotion. If nobody is reading your blog more content is pointless.

There is not enough time in the day to write valuable, high quality posts and still have time to promote them. Not to mention your readers don't have time to get through it all.

    Now here's my advice...

Network. This is going to get your stuff in front of a bunch of eyes quickly, not to mention it's going to get you the natural backlinks Google loves. Although SEO isn't really that important it's still nice to have.

Use your blog as a tool to get people onto your mailing list. My blogs exist solely for this reason. I make money off of the blog itself, sure. But most of the money comes from promoting relevant products to my mailing list.

Remember, if you want to make money you must take a business approach.

Blogging or writing an article should go naturally. It doesn't need to be necessary.
Blogging wouldn't be that hard especially if it is something you are passionate about.
I suggest that if you want to start blogging, start on what interests you because it will be easier to share your interests rather than the other way around.

One of the most important aspects about blogging is passion. If you don't enjoy what you're doing then it will show in your work and people will pick up on that. If you have a real thirst for it then, it will stand you in good stead and will probably result in some future earnings.

Enjoy what you're doing and you will see the medium to long terms rewards

Appreciate that publishing content just on your own site/blog isn't a realistic traffic-generation plan: the only traffic that's ever going to bring is some slow, gradual, eventual search-engine traffic, and - as the saying goes - "good luck monetizing that!".

    1) Promote yo shit, mayne.

Spend more time on promoting content (to the correct people), than on creating content.

Creating content is important but if you're not getting it in front of the people that matter, who gives a shit?

    Not even Gandalf, that's who.

    2) Set up each blog post to capture email optins.

This turns Gandalf the Gray into Gandalf the White.

True said blogging has become the lively hood for many these days. Blogging has become the profession. For students rather than doing part time job, blogging the best alternative. They can create their own brand with zero investment.

Lot of opportunities for earning money online via blogging. Affiliate marketing, adsense programs, buysellads, clickbanks etc. all are awesome.

Blogging where earning money has no limits. Day by day increments (depends on time we spend on our blog) . At last all I can say is blogging is incredible.

    our big one for 2015.

Send as much PPC traffic to an actual blog post ,and make it easy for them to optin at the top and at the bottom of your blog post.

Spread your blog post like wild fire if you are getting highly targeted traffic to your blog by promoting your content to the right people, then expect amazing results.

And syndicate, syndicate, syndicate, .....that is where the big money comes from.

This is having ridiculously amazing results for us.

Also use TEXT and VIDEO, people still love watching video!
